AMERICAS WAR ON TERROR Day 595
The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
1. A second field test on a group of 55-gallon drums in central Iraq has come up positive for a nerve agent.
[Sooner or later, well find the materials.]
Second test positive for nerve agent
2. The United States has detained the self-proclaimed Mayor of Baghdad.
[Good. Need to keep sending the message there wont be any strong-arm takeovers of anything in Iraq.]
Self-proclaimed mayor of Baghdad detained
3. Some Iraqis have targeted Gen. Franks for a war crimes trial.
[Belgium dont follow your neighbor, France, into the old Europe category!]

4. Senator Grassley, Chairman, Senate Finance Committee, says it will be possible to push for a $450 billion tax cut.
[Whats wrong with pushing what the President wants -$550 billion?]
Grassley aims for larger tax cuts
5. There is a plan for an all reality-TV all the time cable channel.
[Another channel I wont watch.]
Reality TV takes on a life of its own with cable channel
6. Despite the war in Iraq and the good feelings it has produced in the Nation as a whole toward the President, this has not translated to the black community.
[Something is wrong with their logic on/off switch. The Criminal Party has been screwing them for years and yet they persist on following them.]
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.

A quick post. Lots to do..car inspection and an attempt to get the trailer registered. You know.... the one that the DMV says doesn't exist even though we have papers proving that it does.<p<Have a nice day. See you later.
"I think our cause going in was justified. ... I am behind President Bush 100 percent," Mr. Scoggins said. "Just because we're people of color doesn't mean we should support regimes run by people of color that are vicious."And that is from someone who supported the war. It's like his main reason why he might not support the war is that Saddam is not a whitey (by his definition, apparently).
Just last week I sat through 5 days of training and spent a lot of my time talking to the two black guys in our group of 8 (they were also the only other non-smokers so while everyone else was having their cigarette break, I was jawing with them). I got to know them pretty well and will enjoy working with them. But one of them is definitely typical of "people of color." He has been arrested many times for all sorts of protests and was against the war. He seemed a bit sheepish about it, but offered that before I even asked. I guess the only explanation is that he grew up around here during segregation and even though he sees all the changes, he still looks at the world in terms of race.
The other guy is younger, in his 30s, and from Chicago. If he's not a Republican, he certainly talks like one. I did talk about race with him, but he does not assume that whites are racist like some blacks and all liberals think.
