We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The Bush Administration will consult with allies on whether to seek international sanctions against North Korea. The Communist nation has said such a move would be a "declaration of war."
Otherwise, not much news this morning.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

...those who choose a lifestyle which can lead to AIDS.
Just catching up on todays thread and had to comment on this. Apparently, there are those in San Francisco who not only choose that lifestyle, but who actually try to become infected with HIV because they no longer want to be restricted by having "safe sex". Stuff like this makes my hair hurt!
Congratulations to Sarah on her new foal. He is a beauty!

Folks - I forgot to mention this morning that I am returning to the usual "Weekend Edition" this weekend, since the war is, for all intents and purposes, over. There will not be a new posting tomorrow morning.

We got back awhile ago from a nice walk along the newly restored Towpath which runs along the old Ohio and Erie Canal which ran along the Cuyahoga River in the Valley.
Actually we started at a point on the Little Cuyahoga, walked to where it joined the Cuyahoga R. and continued on a way from there.Lovely day, and we saw lots of birds...Blue Jays, robins, Cardinals, and a couple of Redwing Blackbirds.
A few other walkers, some with their dogs, and some bikers, but not too busy.
From the point where we started, it was ONLY 35 miles to Cleveland!
WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS DINNER TONITE ABOUT 9:30 ET ON CSPAN I...PRES. BUSH SHOULD BE THERE!!

It's only a matter of time before Scott Ritter's name is found on a lot of those documents.
I loved this stuff about McDermott.
McDermott, in particular, caused quite a fuss when in a September 29 appearance on ABC's "This Week" from Baghdad, he claimed, "The president of the United States will lie to the American people in order to get us into this war." Moments later, despite 12 years of evidence that the Iraqi regime had lied about its weapons program, McDermott said, "I think you have to take the Iraqis on their face value."
....On October 25, McDermott received a check for $5,000 from Shakir al-Khafaji. The money, first reported by Amy Keller in Roll Call, had been deposited in an account for the McDermott Legal Expense Trust, a fund the congressman set up to pay legal bills in a lawsuit brought against him by Rep. John Boehner.

There's some idiot freeper who is so into the SARS thing and is convinced it's a media scam. He's now accusing me and others of being duped by SARS just like he assumes we were duped by Y2K. It's so funny because he's the guy who is so committed to the alternate version of reality and has zero trust in anything the government says.

It does.....I found this in that article...
One of those "Saddam friends" is Shakir al-Khafaji, an Iraqi-American businessman from Detroit. Since 1992, al-Khafaji has served as president of the regime-backed Expatriate Conferences, held in Baghdad every other year. The government provided subsidized travel for Iraqis living outside of the country.
The news report continues, "In their final statement, the participants pledged to exert efforts to lift the embargo imposed on Iraq and to foil the enemies' attempts to divide Iraq and interfere in its internal affairs." The participants sent Saddam Hussein a telegram of support, promising "to do their utmost to defend justice, peace and freedom, especially at this time when the Iraqis are suffering from sanctions. The expatriates said they lived days of love, work and true dialogue to reach means of serving the motherland, and convey its message of civilization sincerely to [their] countries of residence." Al-Khafaji called the gathering "a sincere and faithful response to our motherland."
At the 2000 Expatriate Conference, according to a report in the Jewish newspaper Forward, Al-Khafaji appeared on stage with Tariq Aziz, who was then foreign minister. The pair railed about economic sanctions, which they said were starving the Iraqi people. The official conference website accuses the United States of "terrorism and genocide" in Iraq
Al-Khafaji first came to public notice after revelations that he gave former U.N. weapons inspector Scott Ritter $400,000 to produce a film that criticized the United States for its role in the inspection process. Al-Khafaji, who is listed as a "senior executive producer" of the film, arranged meetings for Ritter with high-level officials in Saddam's government, a feat New York Times magazine writer Barry Bearak found "impressive." Ritter had previously been an outspoken critic of Saddam Hussein, and issued dire warnings about the status of the Iraqi dictator's weapons of mass destruction. His sudden flip--he is now a leading apologist for Saddam's regime--and revelations about Ritter's 2001 arrest for soliciting sex with minors have fueled speculation about the nature of his relationship with al-Khafaji.

Funny cartoon.
I was gone most of the week, but in case you missed it, I wanted you to know that the suicide bombing in Israel on Thursday was in Kfar Saba, the town where my niece lives. We haven't heard any news that would make us believe she was anywhere near there or in any danger, but still it's a scary thought to realize how close she is to it all.

Gonna 'sleep in' tonight, might rain.
D and s-i-l fixed a big ole pot of red beans and rice, cajun style. I tol them as hard as I worked in the yard today they ought to be serving me prime rib. Ahhh, just kidding, I love his red beans and rice, spicy.
Now, I am humgry for some froglegs. In my younger days I would go frog gigging and get em by the crokersack full but, prehaps not for a while yet. I found a good spot around the farm and gotta check with some folks to see if it is any good. Did you know that the froglegs you purchase in a store comes from Bangladesh? I have never bought froglegs before but have been told this by someone in the know.
IG! You ought there? havn't heard from you lately. You doing OK?
Reworking my 'coparator' on my 84 Ford Ranger, been sitting up for a while and want to get it running to take to the farm.
It is off for those red beans and rice, see you.

Jim, that is hilarious! I'm definitely going to keep that one.
Molly, I'm finished with orientation which included 5 pretty full days of classes including First Aid, CPR and defense techniques. My first official day in my position will be next Thursday so until then I'll try to make sure I have the gear I'll need to make the wilderness more livable.
