We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
The United States thinks at least seven officials of the defunct Iraqi regime are now in Syria.
NASA now has the strongest evidence yet the shuttle was doomed at takeoff. There was a temperature spike 81 seconds into the flight (that is, after liftoff) along the leading edge of the left wing. Temperatures should have been decreasing or steady. This is the same location struck by the foam that came off the external tank.
The United States wants the UN to lift sanctions against Iraq imposed as a result of the 1991 Gulf War. It is facing an uphill battle.
A man in Nashville waited for 30 minutes for the city fire Department to rescue his dog from his burning apartment - not that it would have been hard, the dog was pressed up against a glass door to a balcony. The man decided he couldn't wait any longer, and rescued the dog himself. He is now being charged with reckless endagerment. The city is being lambasted; questions have arisen whether the man would have been charged similarly if it had been his child, rather than his pet. Interesting, Nashville has been quite evasive and defensive about that line of questioning.
Do not forget the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

That is funny! And there we are, except for LionsDaughter! However, if you look at the youngest, you can imagine LD. The girls look very much alike. They are, however, six years apart.

Jim, you are very sweet.
Has there been any pronouncements from the US government about North Korea? I'm reading that North Korea claims we're making noises against them, but I haven't read any charges on our part. In other words, it appears to me that NK is making this "crisis" up in order to seem important.

Yes, slow, except for the Peterson business, and a few reports out of Iraq..sort of behind the scenes stuff...and the return of the former POWs to the US.

We're having ham and assorted side dishes.
Enjoyed your reports of Natchez and Vicksburg the other day. My parents took us there back in the early 60s, and it was fascinating.
There was a large antebellum house in Natchez we visited too.
I really sense the ghosts at all those old Civil War sites, don't you??

Well, well,
Germany begins groveling!I'm not as mad with Germany as I am with France. But this a quick acceptance of an apology will only promote more inscincerity. Germany only wants our business. ItHe isn't sorry enough - yet.

I have always felt one of the problems is that we often DO teach our kids but often there is too much dillution with what else we have in our lives..
The fast pace, the materialism, warped priorities.. all in the name of "doing what is good for our family" .. all interrupt the ability to form the connection for adults, as well as children with a close walk with God.
My Mission times in Haiti hit home the fact that people of the third world hunger for god's message & truths - it is easier for them to grow & be strong even in their hunger & problems w/abusive governments. It is easier to fight off the external, than the internal cancers..
Just my 2 cetns.
Have a wonderful Easter, friends.. Be safe & enjoy family, friends & worship.
For those of you who are Jewish, (and I know there are a few) I do hope that your Passover celebrations bring you also closer to our God and his promises.
Praise God that the war is "more gentle" now & that many of our troops are home with their families...
God bless you all!

Gd looked for ghost all the time we were there. I told her at the Texas memorial that the man holding the musket moved it up and down. She looked at it for the better part of an hour and you know, she finally saw it move, so she said. This trip was most impressive, and I have seen it lots of times over the years but it meant more to me this year.
I am off to bed for some much needed rest well, kinda. Must got finished with one of my d 'health dinners', bless her heart, think I am making myself a penut butter 'samwich' just for 'topping off'. See ya'll in the A.M.

Today was work day, which meant radio time. C-Span ran a symposium with three ex-AG's, Nicholas Katzenbach (JFK/LBJ) Ed Meese (Reagan), and Richard Thornburgh (Bush). I wish I could have heard the entire discussion, as it was fascinating.
One topic was the Michigan affirmative action case. The moderator started it off by saying that the AG and the Soliciter General, Ashcroft and Olsen, wanted to file an amicus brief declaring "diversity" in admissions neither a valid public policy goal nor constitutional. The President's White House legal advisor argued against it, and the President ordered the AG and SG to change their breif accordingly. The panel was not concerned with the merit of the argument (other than to say that the brief filed was consistent with the plaintiff's argument). The discussion regarded the political influence upon the SG, particularly.
Meese said that Reagan never interfered with AG/SG filings. They all accepted the fact that the President is the boss. They also agreed that if the SG was so offended by the political pressure, he ought have resigned.
What I get from this is that the story of Olsen's offense at the President's directions was not so great as to demand resignation. That is, either Olsen suffers from pride of office, or his conviction, and offense, as purported by a certain (offensive) Freeper was not so great.
Nicollo is very amused.

LOL! I had to do a google search to find out who she iw. I am totally out of the pop star culture. But I figured my nearest and dearest would know so I did a quick poll of the three living here. Results:
"No way! He's crazy!" This was from the youngest.
"I'm not sure who Glenn Close is. And why would you be compared to a man, anyway?" This was from Jemians Terror. When told who Glenn Close is and who made the comparison, he said, "Mom, be wary of relationships formed on-line." LOL!
Finally, "Not all. No similarities. For starters, she's tall and you're..." Hubby is having to explain at church why he has a black eye. LOL!
