AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 817) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 17, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 04/17/2003 4:21:12 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

News reports are circulating rumors the Iraqi Information Minister hanged himself a few hours after the Americans arrived in Baghdad.

President Bush is calling on the UN to lift sanctions against Iraq.

General Franks toured Baghdad and greeted troops there.

Drudge is reporting that Marvel Comics is suing Sony, saying the latter has overstepped its license for Spiderman and is asking the courts to revoke Sony's license for use of the trademarked product.

The GOP has polling data that shows Daschle is in trouble in his upcoming re-election campaign in 2004.

And a study by Pew Research shows that 42% of Americans will not be reading the news posted here - now or ever - because they don't use the Internet, and don't believe they ever will. Of course, that means 58% can be reached.

Finally - do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Thank you. The next week will be the most difficult in my life, so far. I will trust in the Lord and be thankful for the prayers of my friends.

I wrote an essay that I posted here at FR soon after the 2000 elections and for some reason I keep thinking about it whenever I think of Bill and Hill the many people who seem so willfully deluded by them.

Excellent essay, thanks for the link. I don't lay all of the blame at their doorstep, but a lot I do. Americans were willing to elect him as prez (but never a majority), and were more than willing to listen to him prattle on about the Greatest Presidency That Ever Was. I've realized the past few days that he has taken credit for everything that was good during his reign, and has blamed either President Bush 41 or President Bush for everything that is wrong. I honestly don't know how he can sleep at night.

Fox News: Several High Ranking Saddam Leaders Isolated In NW Iraq By SOF

Although the subject is a quite serious one, the thread is a funny read ..... FReeper humor coming through ..... in spades [pun intended .... which you won't understand if you don't look at the thread].

Interesting essay, Kurt. What really jumped out at me, though far from your intended purpose obviously, was the similarity with Iraq and, to some extent, the Arab world, as characterized by the infamous Baghdad Bob. I have heard several accounts of those in other Arab countries being quite shocked and feeling quite betrayed when the Arab networks showed the statue of Saddam coming down ..... and the people taking such delight in hitting it with their shoes. They had no idea because they had only seen the picture that al Jazeera and other networks had shown them. They didn't realize how much the people of Iraq despised Saddam.

Your closing sentence is powerful .....

..... May God grant us the courage to let go completely of our false realities and embrace the reality that He is now going to make apparent.

I can only say "AMEN!"

I was tempted to wish you all the best and love for your trials next week. Then you wrote of snuggling with Trill.

Seems to me you are not lacking in support or love. Despite all that, I wish you the best!

Good luck.

Have fun snuggling. :)

She's even pausing the movies so that I get a smoke break occasionally.

Kate and Leupold is the movie, and it's really a funny movie, for a date movie. ;>)

You are correct. I have the support and prayers of my friends, and the Love of Christ to sustain me.

I'm also very fortunate to have my Trill.

I pray for those that face trials without Christ in their lives, or friends to pray for them, or loved ones missing.

I really liked Kate and Leopold. I've always liked the travel in time stories.

Thanks UG....................things are looking better today. Well, except for Mary Jane, of course; the funeral is Saturday........

But girlchild actually seems to be doing pretty well.

A major test ahead, though: her solo piano recital is a week from Saturday. So far she is handling the stress pretty well.

Have you ever heard the song "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris? We did it tonight at church.......just a vocal solo & me on piano. It is a GORGEOUS piece of music....extremely well-written and the words just about bring you to tears.

Heehee.:)

I've never seen that movie........but it looked interesting.

I think I didn't see it because I don't care for Meg Ryan (she's in it, right?)

Yes, Meg Ryan is in the movie. I'm not really thrilled with her either, but the movie is good. And Meg gave a credible performance.

I have not heard of the song. I'll have to find it. I'm accompanying someone next week, the solo is "In this very room", one of my favorite religious songs.
