We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
News reports are circulating rumors the Iraqi Information Minister hanged himself a few hours after the Americans arrived in Baghdad.
President Bush is calling on the UN to lift sanctions against Iraq.
General Franks toured Baghdad and greeted troops there.
Drudge is reporting that Marvel Comics is suing Sony, saying the latter has overstepped its license for Spiderman and is asking the courts to revoke Sony's license for use of the trademarked product.
The GOP has polling data that shows Daschle is in trouble in his upcoming re-election campaign in 2004.
And a study by Pew Research shows that 42% of Americans will not be reading the news posted here - now or ever - because they don't use the Internet, and don't believe they ever will. Of course, that means 58% can be reached.
Finally - do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Sticking my nose in, and offering an unsolicieted comment:
My parents were missionaries with the Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) Church which later merged with the Methodists (and they added the "United" part of the EUB name).
From my experience, going from EUB to the Methodists is quite a 'leap'. In the early 60's I went with a guy who's family attended a small EUB in SE Iowa. I went to church with him almost every Sunday,,, except the Sunday's when he went to the Methodist Church with me. Altho there wasn't 'that much' difference back in those days,,, today the Methodists in SE Iowa might as well share a building with the ACLU,, as they promote the same agenda.
I left the Methodist Church in 1967 when I married a Catholic. I joined the Church. I figured I wanted my entire family to go to church together,,, and that was a sacrifice I was willing to make to assure I was able to raise a family surrounded in a faith community.

I've always thought the EUB and Methodist merge seemed odd too. There were some EUB churches which didn't go along with the merge, but I don't think there were many who stayed out.
What makes my parents' reunions with their old missionary friends is that they are now Southern Baptist and, if anything, more conservative than ever, while many of their friends went along with the Methodist merge and are as liberal as ever. When one of them found out my parents were Southern Baptist, he said something very offensive, as if they were now communing with the devil himself.

This is hilarious! Yesterday CNN actually posted on their website prepared obituaries for people who are still very much alive including Dick Cheney, Nelson Mandela, and Ronald Reagan.
CNN makes a deadly mistake

WOW!
British First World War Graveyard Found at Al Amara
The Royal British Legion are welcoming news a lost graveyard has been discovered by the banks of the Tigris river.
The cemetery at Al Amara, built for the dead of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force during the First World War, has been tended by keeper Hassan Hatif Moson Ali in the face of death threats from local Baath officials.

I'm glad someone was taking care of the graves of our allies.
There is a thread on the other side saying that Saddam is dead. I'm waiting for a little more information, but if Andy Card thinks he's dead, I'm inclined to believe Andy.

Have you learned anything since you came to Free Republic, Yukonn? It would be an amazing accomplishment for your species if you did, but I'm certainly not expecting it from you.

I've been trying to figure out why x42's words make me so crazy. Not his words exactly, but the way he says them. I can't decide if it's that he thinks he is so much smarter and superior to the rest of us, or if he is blaring propaganda or what. Hillary!'s comments also make me feel the same way. Just the stuff they say, I know I'm not making any sense, but can we remember anything they say after a few minutes? Nope, just the feeling of uncleanliness and disgust. Anyway, I am rambling, so I will quit.

Hi John. Just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

You're making a LOT of sense ...... I feel the same way.
I have always felt that x42 knew that he was getting away with taking the American public for a ride and has felt quite smarmy about it. His smugness ticks me off BIG TIME! And I will forever be angry about the way that he desecrated the presidency, the White House, the rule of law (which meant something until he distorted it), and so many values that I hold dear.
I do so hope that one day he gets his come-uppance .... in this life.

Smug, that's one of the words I was looking for. And I always think of the story 'The Emperor's New Clothes' whenever I hear those two speak. Just a big bunch of nothingness, no lasting principles, except to gain power, and do anything for attention. Where has good old Hillary! been lately? Haven't heard any of her inane comments.
