We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
ABU ABBAS, THE MASTERMIND OF THE ACHILLE LAURO HIJACKING, IS CAPTURED IN IRAQ
LARGE TERRORIST TRAINING FACILITY DISCOVERED JUST OUTSIDE BAGHDAD
Representatives from the United States, North Korea, and China will be meeting in China next week.
American forces shut down an illegal oil pipeline serving Syria.
President Bush and President Chirac spoke for the first time in two months yesterday; the conversation was described as "business-like."
The Palestinian Authority insists that Washington free Abu Abbas, saying it violates the Oslo Peace Accords, signed by UOx42.
Speaking of the former President, at a forum by Conference Board, he made the following remarks:
"We can't run. If you got an interdependent world, and you cannot kill, jail or occupy all your adversaries, sooner or later you have to make a deal."
And: He said he believed Washington overreacted to German and French opposition to US plans for military action against Iraq.
And, the topper(!): "Since September 11, it looks like we can't hold two guns at the same time. If you fight terrorism, you can't make America a better place to be."
I'm not making that stuff up, folks!
But unlike him...
We will not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I think we need to start emailing Fox and ask them to run a long program BY the embedded reporters (no Geraldo). I think these young men and the old man of the bunch would put on one heck of a show. Ya'll help me with this project, please.
My trip to see the civil war battlefields was great. You could just see the troops in their trenches facing off for the big battle. Natchez is great for the slave days and the old homes, Port Gibson, the town to pretty to burn a must to see and, Vicksburg, so much history.
The Military Academy I went to in the early 50's has not changed except for a few new buildings. So many memories did I have past before me, the good times and the tough times. Gd was spell bound when I told her of what it was like, the parades, the rules, the meals, the living qauters which I got to show her my room, same as it has always been. The marching to church on Sundays when the residents would all come out on their porches and watch us march by, the brass cannon you shined when you broke the rules and I can assure you I took off at least 2 inches of that brass cannon from rubbing it myself. The football and baseball fields I played on and gd was just looking, not saying anything but 'wow'.
It was then off to Vicksburg to the battlefield. If you EVER have the chance to vist there do so, you will not be dissapointed. I will talk about this later and thanks to all the states who were envolved in the war erected monuments on behalf of there state and different armies, north and south. Ill. has the biggest but Iowa has the most impressive. Course MS is no slouch. The engraving on the metal plates is unbelieveable.
I am glad to be back home and we plan to go back to go thru the park again, amazing.

Check out the new map of France. I would post it here but I'm not sure it passes the "family-friendly" test ..... it is hilarious though.

What got to me the most was standing in the war cemetary looking at the headstones, half were of the unknowns. I thought of all the mothers waiting for their sons to come home but never did. You have just got to feel the saddness, the hurt those folks felt. This got to me more than anything.
If you get the chance to visit one of the civil war battlefields, do so. You will never regret it.

Just want to tell you this. We went to a lille rest. in a house yesterday in Vicksburg and they had the roundtable, lazy susan in the middle and wow, what a meal, fried porkchops, lima beans, turmip greens, cornbread, field peas and you know what? A good ole lazy summer day great meal. Lots of ice tea too.
