We come from the land of the Ice and Snow...
After listening to Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song one too many times, I have been compelled to start a thread to honor the Viking Kitties that fight along side the AdminModerator against Trollish hordes.
May the power of ZOT! always be upon the Viking Kitties until they reach Valhalla!

Freepers Everywhere,
Welcome to the First Annual Free Republic Lightning Storm an online display of natural and man-made fireworks and patriotic images in anticipation of the Fourth of July and the safe return of all of our Servicemen and women on tours of duty around the world.
Most every community in America celebrates the Fourth of July with Fireworks in some fashion. Free Republic is an on-line community and this tradition should be no different. Thats why we decided that the Free Republic needed its own on-line Fireworks display to honor America, Freedom and those who sacrifice to protect it.
We hope you enjoy this tribute to the United States of America
(Comment section) If you want to add your own pictures of Fireworks, Lightning, Armed Forces Personnel, Patriotic Images or Fourth of July parades, please post them one at a time. This will serve as a Bump To The Top (BTTT) and help those with dial-up connections.
Please do not post copywrited photographs unless they are in a fair-use format or you have received prior permission from the photographer.
Also, please remove anyone from the "To:" field as that person might receive a multitude of replies over the course of this thread.
