Targeted Prayer

A call to prayer warriors to unite in "targeted" prayers - prayers aimed specifically at geographic areas of Iraq that are involved in heated battle (cities, towns, locales, objectives). Reason: In Old Testament God was specific in His instructions to those involved in armed conflicts. As we read or hear about battles going on in specific cities in Iraq or regions - we can unite to pray for the battles in these areas. We are not just fighting Saddam and his henchmen. There is a very real spiritual battle taking place because anywhere such evil has been allowed to fluorish as it has inside Iraq - "principalities, powers, and forces of darkness" take up residence in physical locales as well as inside the human beings dwelling there.

We are not able to defeat the legions of demons inside Iraq - but there is One who is MORE THAN ABLE to do so. We must engage in the conflict simply as being a front line prayer warrior - holding up a certain region before God in prayer and asking that the One who came to this earth to DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL and who, while He was here, went from town to town, delivering people from the hosts of wickedness that indwelt them - displaying his supreme AUTHORITY OVER EVIL SPIRITS and DEMONS and SATAN himself - this One, Jesus Christ - and His Holy Angels would be present in power and authority to defeat the demonic hordes of certain specific locales involved in intense fighting.

Yes, we are praying for individuals in our military and for our general war effort and for the families of those involved and for our President and our leaders.

But we can also do STRATEGIC PRAYING FOR LOCALES in the "news" as we read/hear about setbacks for instance and/or areas needing breakthroughs - and that kind of praying is what I am encouraging with this post.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Dear Father, we lift up Basra and the forces at war there. We lift up the people of Basra and ask that you reach their hearts and minds with your truth by your Holy Spirit as we ask that the One who has all authority on earth, in heaven, and under the earth - would be right there in the midst of the fighting. Lord Jesus, our strong deliverer, BIND in that place, in Basra - all the forces of darkness, all the demonic spirits localized in that area, and send them OUT away never to return to that region. Lord Jesus, thank you that you "train our hands for war" - the war of prayer and the war of deliverance from evil. Be with all the forces at work to deliver Basra from the grasp of evil, of demonic forces. Cleanse Basra of all such forces and spirits and fill it with YOUR Spirit, sending in YOUR HOLY ANGELS and the Chariots of fire to carry out YOUR WILL in this place of conflict.

Father, we lift up the soldiers fighting for freedom and deliverance of the Iraqi people and to uncover the truth of the evil hidden there. REMOVE THE BLINDERS AND GIVE SIGHT TO ALL THOSE WHO CANNOT SEE THE TRUTH in that area.

Open the prison doors of those who have been held captive there by evil for so many years and cleanse the area of all the forces of darkness filling it with YOUR LIGHT, the LIGHT of truth, justice, and freedom.

Confuse and confound those forces that are now going to be sent OUT of Basra at your command as we hold this strategic area up to you in prayer and protect all those fighting for its deliverance. Give strong wisdom, guidance, and protection to the commanders making the decisions about Basra and especially give courage and help to the people there held captive by the demonic inspired people allied with hell.

Lord Jesus, you said that the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against your church. We, the church of Jesus Christ, Unite in intercession for Basra to be delivered and set free in the Name of Jesus Christ! And we will continue to pray for Basra until that freedom and security takes place! AMEN.

Here is another targeted prayer.

As we speak, Islamic forces all over the Middle East are cheering Jihad and pledging to confront the Allies with terrorism, or even direct military action. Syria, Iran, and to some extent Egypt are foaming with belligerent forces itching to enlarge this conflict and hand us defeat.

Our Israeli allies are facing these threats as well as our coalition Allies.

Its time to pray harder than before, and in earnest,that this conflict doesnt spread. If it is God's will for it to spread, then lets pray that the enemy earns his judgement at the hand of the Lord in a decisive manner.

I have no patience with Islamists today, and I apologize if my sentiments sound non Christian.

Absolutely right - we must put on the Whole Armor of God if we are going to be on the frontlines of "engagement" of the spiritual warfare that is ongoing.

Ephesians 6: We should begin each day praying on the Armor of God:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Let's hold up the arms of those on the ground fighting to liberate Basra by our prayers for Victory in Basra! (And see above - let's put on the full armor of God as we do this "work").

Pass the word about the effort if you can. Thanks again. Will check back in later tonight. We will continue to pray for Basra's liberation until it is liberated! We will pray for God's Holy Angels (asking for legions and legions), His Chariots of Fire, His Holy Spirit to come to the aid of the people of Basra who are being killed by the Saddamites and for the safety of our forces in the area and for the total victory and liberation of this city from the forces of evil. Do not expect this to take place quickly. But let's EXPECT TOTAL AND GREAT VICTORY!

Why thank YOU for that link! Have this thread bookmarked now. That link mentioned about satan 'perverting' the Word. It reminded me of Lester Sumrall teaching that next to GOD, Jesus, Holy Spirit, that satan was the NEXT expert on the Word.

So to all our prayer warriors, put on the Whole Armor, and wrap your family members in the covering of the Precious Blood. 'Cuz all hell will probably 'target' you. (been there, done that, survived it, PTL!!!)
