At my college, the Dean of students was named Barbra Dean. When you got in trouble, you had to visit Dean Dean. Always reminded me of Major Major of Catch-22 fame. The chairman of the LA county school board was a Doctor Doctor. Yes, Doctor Doctor got a Ph.D.
Sigh. Dr. Doctor Doctor...

At the school I work at, we have a boy Tristan and a girl Trystan. Both are in Kindergarten.
We also have an abundance of Taylors, Tylers, Jordans, Christians, Codys and Corys. All are used by both girls and boys.
We have a girl Gordyn, pronounced Jordan. Devin, Devan, and Devynn are 2 boys and a girl. I know kids named Arizona, Phoenix, Helena, Dallas, London, Trenton and Dakotah.
If you want a unique name for your son go with Edward, John, Roger, James, Mark, David, or any other traditional name. There's not many young ones out there.

I hope so! That would rather traumatic for a young girl...
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
I went through high school with two girls, sisters, named Sammee and Charlie. Their parents were expecting boys, there was no ultrasound back in the sixties...stuff happens. They were both sweet, intelligent (and attractive) young ladies, so they apparently weren't traumatized by the unconventional names. They had a little sister named Casey. I kind of wonder how she did...
...oh, I should probably mention...their last name was Jones.

I went to high school with a girl who went by the intials B.J. Hey, I resemble that remark. Actually, I went through school as Elizabeth and was/am Betty Jane or B.J. in real life.

It's pronounced "fooshka".

When I was born my mom wanted to name me after both of my grandmothers. Since they were both born in the 1890's, they had "typical" names of that time period. Mom tried and tried to work a combination of their first and middle names to give me. Luckily, she wasn't happy with any combination, since my name might have been "Mildred Matilda", "Thelma Pearl", or "Pearl Matilda".
Whenever I think of what my name COULD have been, I shudder.

Here are some that I found that are particularly interesting. This is not a joke
name site. These are real names. Some you have to say a few times to get, like Marshantose.
Among the interesting girl names are: Anyalanashyquae, Brie, Chantrelle, Choclate, Clister, Cloroneza, De'Lawn, Deshunta, Divan, Elide, Euphrobia, Fornesha, Gro, Jamungie, Java, Natavia, Orelon, Regime, Shneqqia, Taiwana, Trashica, TyLenol, Valgena, Yawna, and Yelling.
The largest number of boy's names began with D followed by R. Among the interesting boy names are: Amber, Ar'Kaevius, Chante, Clinton, De-rice, Demo, FoFo, Kennlucky, Latravious, Lazarious, Marshantose, Natron, Neon, Plaxico, Rayshone, Raytheon, Shonntarious, Taijuan, Tequancy, Tron, Vicellous, and Wait.

Oh, this is funny, and so true. We're used to it now, after living in Utah for a number of years, but there definitely is a "Mormon way" of naming kids. A favorite thing is adding capital letters in the middle of the name. I know a MayDean (guess her parents names), a LaVern (male), and a DeNeice (yes, the vowels are in that order). Then there is our sweet young local celebrity, Neleh Dennis of Survivor fame, Helen backwards, pronounced "neh-LEE-ah".
