Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

The superbowl is really boring this year. I think the last few minutes have been pretty exciting! We turned it on just in time to see the Bucs get their back to back touchdowns! SSQ wanted to watch to see the commercials, though after watching a few, he's decided that some of them should be rated PG-13!

Susan says that that link is pure fantasy, and vouches for the integrity of the sound of the recorderI was listening to the classical radio station the other day and the announcer said the next selection was a concerto for the RECORDER! I was stunned; I didn't realize there was any serious music for it. Turns out, it is one of the main instruments in Medieval music, which I love. I guess I never realized just what it was. I knew it was a wind instrument, but not which one.

Klez can start if you open a message with IE and have auto execution enabled, before you get the chance to actually open the attachment. Otherwise, you have to actually open the attachment to be infectedI got hit with Klez last year. Since then, I look at all the e-mails in my inbox list before I start scrolling down because the next one will open automatically if I close one. If there is one from someone I don't know, or don't recognize, I right click and delete it. Then I go to my deleted files and delete it again. I never open them!
I got an e-mail from a freeper a few weeks ago, but had never seen that e-mail addy, so I deleted it. She freepemailed later to ask if I'd seen it, then I realized who the sender was!
For some reason, I've been getting some nasty e-mails (can tell by the description) and I do the same with those. I frankly don't care with whom Britteny does anything! I get those about once a week. EWWW!

ACK! That is not a recorder! That is a flutophone! A mere toy.... makes noise, not music....

(Suzi Q is right about recorders being a distinguished part of medieval music....)
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
Everyone is too stunned by the sight of that flutophone to speak...I just now caught my breath!
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic; 2Jedismom
Hehehe...at least we can agree on that.

I hope I get these red sneakers...I love red shoes! When I was really little...six years old, first grader, the wealthiest girl in town had a pair of red shoes that reminded me of Dorothy's. I wanted them so bad, but was aware even at that age that my parents couldn't afford them.
Just a few years ago, I told my mom about it and she said that if I'd mentioned them, they would have likely tried to get them for me! Ohhh, the missed opportunity for red shoes.
For Christmas this year, my mom got me a pair of red Enzo Angiolinis like these (except red, or course):

Anyway, I think it's why I keep buying these red sneakers for the boys...heck, maybe it's why I paint my toenails red, when I don't even wear makeup! Some psychologist would probably have a field day with this...he can blow it out his shorts.
The wealthiest girl? Well, last I heard, her mother had hired a hit man to rub out her dad.

Okaaay.....hope the Sunday school guy doesn't find out about this red shoe thing! :)
Just give me something comfortable with no skid soles and leather uppers.

I'm tellin' ya, I'm chock full of stories.

LOL
Shall I tell you about the bug (or not) on my birthday cake?
To: SuziQ
Wow, those commercials were bad.... we watched the game and every time anyone scored did "bad dancing", which is what it sounds, you do the worst looking dance you can think of. Then we added a new phase - "genteel applause" with little "Well played, chaps" comments delivered in English accents.
What can I say, we're WASPs celebrating our cultural heritage. Or something.

Hey everyone!
I just got a chance to hop on, catch up on the posts and write something myself. Glen is downloading music right now for ideas on what his band can play, so I can't stay, I'm afraid.
I did want to tell Hair that the Dave Barry thing was funny, tell 2J that the red shoe thing is normal for high spirited folks and to thank Corin for his lovely sound effects! LOL!!
Talk to you all tomorrow!
Oh yeah - OT, you've got FReepmail. :)
