Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Susan says that that link is pure fantasy, and vouches for the integrity of the sound of the recorder.... That was created by someone with a a very esoteric sense of humor....

One of my speakers has developed a buzz that's driving me nuts. I'm looking for a half-way decent 3 piece speaker system...$50 or under.

We here are pulling for Tampa Bay, just because I have a Tampa Bay jacket that I paid 3 bucks for about 5 years ago. It has become very popular. I have a house full of guys watching the game right now.

(I just finished cooking over 100 buffalo wings, whew.)
To: My back yard
Wings! We haven't had wings in ages! Can we snarf some?
I've got leftover pepperoni and extra cheese pizza, plus some ice cream from the birthday party earlier...

Klez can start if you open a message with IE and have auto execution enabled, before you get the chance to actually open the attachment. Otherwise, you have to actually open the attachment to be infected.
Info on detecting and cleaning is here:
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_KLEZ.H
Depending on your version of McAfee, it may not be scanning web content. The new one can, but the older ones don't. I like PC-Cillin from Trend Micro but any of the top antivirus apps will do.
Trend (www.antivirus.com) also has a free online scanner that will at least tell you if you've been infected.
Good luck!!

Wings....I've got some in the freezer.
To: Ramius
Thanks! I think I'm ok, because it came to hotmail and I didn't open any attachments...
To: Overtaxed
Do you prepare them and then freeze them?
To: 2Jedismom
No...these are unprepared. I didn't get around to preparing them so I just chucked them in the freezer.
To: Overtaxed
Are they buffalo type wings? I'd like a good buffalo type wing recipe.
To: JenB
Absolutely, and I had a squash casserole, kidney bean salad, green salad, garlic bread and the usual celery and blue cheese dressing. Plenty left over.
To: 2Jedismom
I cut them into pieces, sprinkle with salt and pepper and bake them at 350-375 until they're done and coat them with this sauce:
Melt in sauucepan:
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
1/4 to 1/2 tablespoon vinegar.
(makes enough for 1 pound of wings.)
I like to dip them in blue cheese dressing

(Super Bowl-- it is kinda like a Super Moot, only between 2 teams of Uruk hai..)
To: 2Jedismom
The recipe I have calls for frying the wings, but that's too much trouble so I just oven bake them instead.
