The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I don't think you have a good enough reason either.
She felt better after a few pints and a steak.
To: HairOfTheDog
I will buy it if you say it is that good....
To: Overtaxed
Yeah, it doesn't take very long without power to have great appreciation for the goodness it brings!
Especially because here I don't have a fireplace. Growing up, if there was no power, we could at least huddle around the fire and pretend we were camping.
I have a community well with three others, and the neighbor has been working on something and shutting the water off for a few hours at a time. It doesn't take long for that to become a big deal either!
To: HairOfTheDog
OK -- that puts all my issues in perspective. That's a weirder circumstance than anything I've been involved in.
To: Overtaxed; g'nad
So you have a while to prepare for it.... If it goes through we could mini moot in Iowa or Missouri with g'nad ;^)
A couple of weeks ago I was thinking of abandoning FR altogether, and now I'm planning mini moots all over the country....LOL!
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
You don't remember the Rohan theme from the movie? da da da da dee dah! Da da da dee da dee!
Yes, buy it! The Woodwinds in the Fangorn theme are wonderful too.
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
If you plan the mini moot before the 31st, I could come along. I have a flight almost anywhere I can use if I go like.... NOW.
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
Make it Missouri and it'll be easier for 2J to come....and don't forget to invite osagebowman

(Have you met your mooter?)

Like I said, my friend is a bit of a drama queen. I get these requests from her a lot. A few beers, and the desire to be shot, rolled up in a piece of carpet and pushed into a ravine doesn't sound as fun as a game of pool. Problem solved and no one has to do time. ;~D

but what really is different about it from the LOTR one, except for the Gollum theme....????Where do I begin? The theme for Theoden "The King of the Golden Hall" has a medieval sound to it with the hardinger (a Norwegian fiddle); it really evokes that 'fuedal lord' idea! The Rohan theme is just glorious! It makes me salivate thinking what the theme for Gondor will be! I'm listening to Forth Eorlingas right now and it is one of the most desperately beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. The music for when the Ents march on Isengard is astounding!! Talk about 'fetch my medicine'!!
We're going to see the movie again on Friday with the homeschool teen group. I'll pay even closer attention to the music this time in order to 'see' the scenes when I listen to the soundtrack!

To: HairOfTheDog
Hmmm... we will have to take that into consideration, but right now nothing was working that well until around Feb 8-9.....
To: Overtaxed
Duly noted.....
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
Heh.... No problem. I am not usually that spontaneous. Its the pints! This opportunity too will pass! ;~D
To: JenB
You don't know it yet, but this is the time of your life!
To: SuziQ
I'm sold... gotta have it...
It looks like I'm the Hobbit Hole Social Director for the Upper Midwest Division....sheesh....and I'm an introvert!
To: HairOfTheDog
Uh-huh. That's what adults always say. They've been saying it since I was 3, and you know what? They've been wrong? It isn't as cool to be a kid as they think. I'm so glad I'm finally a person instead of just a child...

With 2J and OB and all, it wouldn't be a mini moot any more, it would be a midi moot.... Maximoot is Jan 2004....

Good Night All!
