The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I will make out like a bandit if it would just work again! I would be pleased if I am wrong and it works on Monday - This is getting harder and harder to read!
So if I am here less, it is only because this is so depressing!

No, I do not think it is specifically a "Christian" movie as much as it is a God movie. The director really does a great job at keeping the message non-denominational

I saw the movie again today and I am fuming at the quality of the theatre. I thought that by going to a respectable chain, Loews, I would at least get a decent quality theatre with good sound. I was wrong. The sound was at best a cheap 1970's mono and the picture was aweful. I complained to the theatre manager 5 times to no avail. I highly recommend calling up at asking if the movie is in one of the main theatres.
The only place I have ever been to where every theatre is of good quality big or small is the United Artist (Regal) Statium seating multiplexes. You are guaranteed a good seat, decent screen, and good sound.
Trust me, the LOTR is not nearly as moving without good sound quality.

That's too bad! :< ! I have always loved Loews Theatres...it's AMC I can't stand...severely limited refreshments at exhorbitant costs and weirdly shaped theatre rooms. I only go to AMC more often because my friend's hubby does work there as security (it is in the Katy Mills mall)...otherwise, I can't stand AMC.
BTW...is anyone chatting in the Yahoo room tonite?

Hi Festa!
Yes, a good theater makes all the difference! Luckily I scoped out some theaters that I liked last year with FOTR. I think I like the smaller ones with the stadium seating (I'm a bit short and don't like to worry about seeing over people's heads). I actually like the smaller theater that's close to my house...it has only 4 screens. At the larger theaters I can hear the sound from other movies. I'm planning on seeing The New Movie on Sunday (viewing number 4...I know. I'm a piker! :) )
I read your profile page...another college student! When JenB gets back online she won't have just us old fogeys to talk to. :)

Maybe this weekend I will do that deep cleaning and organizing of the barn!
