Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I do have corrective lenses for my "bad eye"...my left eye that has been not as good as my right eye was...I could put on the patch and then read better, maybe, with my glasses on...
I'll give it a try.

Jealousy strikes!
They always want the dwarves.
I sent out three more resume/applications today. No chance on any of them.
Actually, Corin, the way you are going about it is perfect...people always want to hire people who are currently working. You've always got a cloud hanging over your head (questions, suspicions) if you're out of work.
Next time (that long day in the future somewhere), when I'm actually working I'm going to start looking for my next job actively the first day at work. Because I'm going to leave my next employer, not wait for him (or his successor) to screw me.
Of course, if any of my potentials hear that, I never will get another job! (but the odds of "never getting" are higher each day anyway).

NO - We aren't talking about the poster! - You ordered the poster? - Is it really cool? That is fun!
We are talking about the flags from Afganistan....

They did put me on antibiotics and told me the patch was optional. I have them out in the car. I'll put one on right now.

You rang?
That only works some of the time, you know. Ask Miss Hair, she's always going: "ARGHH!" and I'm always ignoring her...

Plus I am not sure I could take seeing the brutality. I have enough trouble reading it. It is hard for me to explain. But I think seeing the brutality will strengthen my faith. And perhaps my resolve to be more faithful myself.
I plan on going to see it alone.

Good luck on your interview! We can take more turmoil and excitement in the Hobbit Hole.... We have multi-tasking down pat.

They always want the dwarves. what's not to want?... we're diligent, thrifty, hard working, and have tremendous stamina and rugged good looks... and chicks dig us...

And you have beards down to your knees...
(you think maybe I need to stop shaving well before any interviews?)

I have them out in the car. I'll put one on right now. AARGH!!!!

So I am very glad you are seeing it, and I hope it will do well. But to me, it's not what I need. Perhaps it's because I am not a very visual person. I see things better in words... they seem more real. Especially religious matters, I dismiss on the screen what I would easily accept on a page. After all, faith is the "evidence of things not seen". Which is taken quite out of context here, isn't it? Ah well...

Don't know about the shaving. But sugar substitutes couldn't hurt.
To: Corin Stormhands
Yes, if the employer is well-read, he'll simply think that I'm a throwback to Ben Franklin.

And you have beards down to your knees... and... nevermind...
To: g'nad
heh heh heh...
To: g'nad
That only works if you're trying to get a woman to hire you...
To: 2Jedismom
