The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good night!
To: Wneighbor
We had also sent him 2 packages and a third is on the way tomorrow. I think mostly we just really really really want our people to know who much we appreciate them. And we want to show our love. You need a paypal account that we can start sending $$$ to for these new packages! I would be more than happy to send them more stuff.

I'll bet there's no fiber in sugar substitute at all.
It is made of pure undiluted evil.
Packaged and sold by Sauron.

Excess fiber causes gas. Just ask Corin. Why do these mortals bother themselves with the food intake of the immortal?

You know LF, all you gotta do is have one little housewarming party with all us there and your problems is over. Each of us just uses our own unique idea and if your neighbor's still among the livin' he's gonna be checked into your local looney bin for a long visit. And if they send him home they'll be sure and get him all medicated first.

OK! - Airshow was a long day! - Didn't take a lot of pictures that came out good...
It just POURED part of the day.... It is funny, I pray for rain for two months and it comes on the one day nobody wanted rain! - They had to delay the show, it cleared up for a lot of it, we got SOAKED! No coats! Heh... I didn't care.... Ramius and I got good seats right in front when all the wimps, my dad included ran to go stand in a hanger during a downpour.
Muscle planes past and present.... A-10 Warthog and P-51

This guy needs no introduction:

These are new Airmen-to-be! Sworn in to the Air Force today in front of that crowd.... Sworn in by the Thunderbird pilots (in red) no less!

Sexiest airplanes in the world, awaiting on the Tarmac

OUTSTANDING!!!! Sounds like a great day to me.
No rain here. We need rain now too. Bright blonde perky weather girl just said "we'll be having July weather for the next week."
so, is it possible not to have July weather in a week where all 7 days are in the month of July? Whatever the weather is on any particular day from the 1st to the 31st, just the fact that it's in July, doesn't that make it July weather? < /rant
sorry it just sounded stupid.

I took them, yes..... They came out OK.... I don't have the right lens to get in tight on the action, and with digital cams it is tough to time the perfect action shot sometimes.... the camera has gone to sleep when you need it.... And you get the shot two seconds after the one you wanted!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yep, I know those scenarios. I spent a season as track photographer at our local circle track back home. Tough timing, camera not ready. Film speed too slow. Lots of challenges. But, then sometimes you get a shot that is just too cool for words.

Wow, nice pics. Looks like a fun day.
A-10's always remind me of college. One of the major training facilities for them is Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson. Used to watch them flying over campus on approach all the time.
To: HairOfTheDog
Did you go see the Pirate movie yet? I love this shot.

If you didn't see the movie yet then you have to remember this one for after the movie.

Well, back in my day with my ~real~ camera..... I could have the right lens for the job and do better...
I was photo editor of my college newspaper. That was fun... I loved to play in the darkroom.
To: HairOfTheDog
Those are great pictures, Hair. I just LOVE to watch planes flying over! When we go to FL for SSQ's family's reunion, we always go over to the Pensacola Naval Air Station to watch the Blue Angels practice. It is so awesome to see!
