The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thanks! I wish I didn't have to take the Lortab...it makes me feel like death warmed over.

Maybe in a few days when it starts to heal more, you'll be able to take less medication. Until then, try to get lots of rest, as much as you can with two boys... :-)

Hi - on Turtledove - his latest, "Ruled Britania" was brilliant but it's still in hardcover. "Guns of the South" was really good. I also liked "Between the Rivers" and the collection of stories he put out lately: "Counting Up, Counting Down".
Hope that helps!

Maybe you could go in costume to see Orlando's new movie...

Ha! Steve actually almost got me one of those! I told him some bandages, and he showed up at the counter with one of those place things!
He also tried to get me to put on the hospital gown in the ER.
Sigh...

Gotta run...again. We're just back from lunch.
Luke has apparently entered the "do not take me out in public until I'm six" phase. I took him out of the restaurant once and thought I had talked him into calming down. I was wrong. So we got it all carry out.
I'm gonna get him outside and away from the TV. See y'all tonite.
To: Corin Stormhands
er, one of those "black" things.
It's the Lortab.

Ow! 2J, that's terrible! Glad your vision is okay. I hate things that threaten my eyes, so glad you're all right.

Yeah...the eye waters, and everything is blurry and a bit white, but it's better than it was and will supposedly continue to get better. I have antibiotic drops I put in it.
The doctor asked me what the pain was like and I told him it was a sharp stabbing pain, because something sharp stabbed me in the eye!

Congrats on the flag and condolences on the eye. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Well, now that SuziQ got her flag, let me know when you get yours!

I think you were the first person to get a letter, too...even before me.
I am so tickled.

They said it was pretty superficial and should heal pretty quickly, but the dang thing hurts like someone is driving a nail into my eye. So they have me on Lortab which makes me feel six feet under.YOW! I'm relieved it's not any worse. Eyes are so fragile. I have a blink reflex (to go along with my gag reflex) that's so strong, it's almost impossible to put drops in my eye. Contacts for me are out of the question.
Hang in there until the pain goes away, and you're all healed up. And that was a one-in-a-billion freak accident. You could wear eye protection for the rest of your life now, and never need it.

I know it. It was really a strang thing. The cord just whipped out from where I had wrapped it around the little appliance and the prongs got me.
Well, I'm going to try frying those livers now. I've had a hankering for them now for three days!

Oh, and I got a phone call about another contract job todayYou is an ontamanure!!
To: 2Jedismom
Bless your heart, 2J! I'll put you on our Prayer line for a quick healing!
I was so excited about the flag. It is as large as the one we already had flying outside! I think I'll keep this one inside just to admire it. It was such a nice thing for the Renegade Chaplain to do!
To: SuziQ
You is an ontamanure!!?? I is confused too. Never heard that before, what's it mean?
To: 2Jedismom
Dang! Sounds like safety glasses are required in the kitchen. I already reach for the glasses when approaching outdoor equipment.
To: 2Jedismom
Just checking in to see what all is going on and read about your eye. So very sorry you had this accident, but very thankful to God that it wasn't deeper. We will keep you in our prayers for a speedy recovery.
