The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I may be an elf. But, definitely a war-like elf.

How many of them 'out of commission' vehicles you got parked in your yard? Right now? only a go-cart and old honda dirt bike. (those don't really count do they?) I have both 4 wheel vehicles running. The bike needs maintenance but it runs.
At one time however, there were multiple non-running vehicles most of the time. Racing does that. Parts cars and such.

Y'know, if I'd known who died, I'd have watched a movie too... actually I'm currently writing a fanfiction about that character cuz he got even more interesting than before with the new book, but I think I'm gonna end it long before he ies... was in denial of that one for two days...
Hey, I just had a looong conversation with my parents about writing... turns out my father is writing a novel. Never knew he had it in him but hey! that's really cool. I'm considering letting them read my dead-Elf story.

Good evening! Welcome back!
Went and saw the T3 movie earlier this evening. Enjoyed it... lots of action, and the ending reminded me of certain SF that I enjoyed reading when I was little, back in the 70s.

Me.
Saw it yesterday.
1 hour, 49 minute chase scene.
Pretty hectic, but they manage to work a story in there somehow.
Very exciting. Much suspended belief. Don't expect intellectual stimulation.

1 hour, 49 minute chase scene. You are familiar with the first two movies, right? You were expecting something different? ;)

I love it!!
Hey, I forgot to tell you what happened the other night when we went to watch the fireworks! We didn't want to go down to where teh crowd was, so when it got dark we ALL (six) of us piled on my dad's golf cart and rode out on the golf course where we could watch them. (It's against The Rules, you know). We had to go quite a ways...my folks live on the 13th hole and we went to the fifth hole.
So we're sitting there and can you guess what happened? Just guess.

Great photos, OT!! I loved the ones in your lab! I just got back from the Misty Mountains (White Mountains of NH) with Mr. Frodo. We got some good pictures! I'll have to come up with some good text to go along with them.
I'll upload them to the York site tomorrow then I'll post some of them here.

Gandalf showed up?

Yeah, I enjoyed T3 very much also. The ending - that was unbelivably right. I came out with a huge grin on my face because it was such the right ending.
Anyway, night all, see you tomorrow after work.

The irrigation came on! I tell ya, it weren't no little bitty sprinklers, either! They were so massive that they were almost frightening! Like sod farm irrigators, you know...gigantic arches of water! We got HAMMERED by that water...the kids were freaking out, we ended up in someone's back yard! So we were just real quiet and watched from there. Before the fireworks were over, the irrigation stopped and we were able to get home ok...but we were all SOAKED!

Anybody here happen to have seen the new T-3 movie yet?We haven't yet, but the 13 yr. old is lobbying HARD! We watched the last half of T2 on TV the other night, so he's familiar with the robot/human violence from that one. I've read the review on the Kids in Mind website, but I think he'll be ok with it.
I'm just an Ahhnold fan, so I want to see it too!
To: JenB
I agree about the ending! It made perfect sense.
Good night... What job do you have?

Well, I'm thinking that I need to get out and do something this week. I was thinking about a movie. Of course there's Pirates starting Wednesday - but not in my town. So, T3 will probably be it. I need to see violence and good triumphing over evil.
OH BTW! my 2 young grandkids enjoyed cookies with me this past week. We talked quite a bit about cookies and all that it takes for them. They got a pre-school version all about cookies. They liked my homemade cookies!

I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares over it! Why have such gigantic watering devices in a golf course??

Myranda, my middle grand-daughter Abby and I watched the largest fireworks show in Bosque County from the old baseball fields in the Norwegian Capital of Texas. I thought of Hair and knew that she and Ramius should be there. ;-)
