The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You've been eyeballing my butt balm since I got it.

That made my eyes trip.

Perhaps there's nothing you can say. Everyone involved is sure they are right and everyone else is wrong. Unfortunately we're all a load of stiff-necked self-centered jerks. Or at least, I am. I think there's probably some fault on all sides, and I wish some things had not been said yesterday, but darn it all....

Is a little spam or a few chicken pictures really worth ruining such a good thing over?

My friend that shows the collies (and calls me about rescues all the time) is bringing by a dog that she just rescued. 12 year old collie.... male... given up because someone had to move. (Why would people think dogs can't move? - they have legs!)

She wants my clippers to try to clean him up... Evidenctly he's a mess.

You know, any group will have it's personality clashes. It's human nature, after all.

The one thing I've learned from this is that words hurt just as badly as sticks and stones do, so we have a responsiblity to those we care about to be considerate with what we say and do to them.

*sigh*

IMHO, most certainly not!

Well, the day-late cheesecake was a screaming success!

I must confess to being really nervous putting my baking skills on display but it worked out well: the sugar-free cheesecake was 'voted' best. They all want the recipe. *whew* Can't believe I was stressed!

True. I also think we tend to say things on-line or via e-mail that we would never say in RL, to someone's face. I know I can, if I don't watch myself.

Congratulations! So...you going to post the recipe here, too?

That is a very ugly fact in cyberland.

Of course not, if that was what it was really all about.
