The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Of course it wasn't the dark-colored load! Any cat worth her salt is going to pick laundry that contrasts.
I opened the dryer door and in she went. :)

Hair; well, if your guests are young, they will probably appreciate the Witch's Circle name, but for me, it is a peaceful looking area, hence The Grove.
If it is that dry, might I gently suggest you make your cleared area around the fire stone circle a mite wider, (whoops - the Smokey Bear part of my personality apparently surfaced again.)

So close the door, start the load... problem solved!

Heh....cat's not going to jump on wet laundry.
To: Overtaxed
Laundry is not harmed by an extra run through the drier. Is it? I don't really pay much attention to these things, which could be why I don't seem to own a white shirt anymore, just sort of grayish-pink shirts that I remember once being white.

Excellent! Now you can re-wash the clothes!
Right, I checked, and you're supposed to put cats in the dishwasher, not the dryer. Oops!

Poor kitty!

It's raining here this evening. So far it hasn't been bad, but before it got dark the clouds looked pretty nasty. and it is lightning. Not surprising, the garden was starting to look better.
It has been after midnight the last few nights before I got in bed, and I was up early. I'm tired. I have 2 friends coming tomorrow morning at 9 to ride so I'm out of here in just a few minutes. Have to sit and unwind a bit.

My daughter in law bathes her cats occasionally. I have never attempted it:)

I had one cat that we had to bathe semi-frequently because of an allergy he had that needed treatment baths. He got to where he tolerated it pretty well but at first it was not pretty.

Did you ever see that Star Trek episode where beings from Andromeda hijacked the Enterprise and were taking it to the far galaxy?
It is one of my favorites because Scotty has one the all-time great lines in it -- the crew decided to try and trick the Andromedans with illogic. And one of the main efforts was trying to get the Andromedan drunk. Scotty used up everything in his liquor cabinet and finally got down to the last bottle -- some chartreuse-colored drink. The Andromedan asked him what it was, and in a drunken-Scottish brogue Scotty answered: "It's Glween!"

Morning! Tried sleeping in again as I have the day off but it didn't work. I got a 'what's wrong with this picture?' pounce about 0645. Ah well. They'll fall asleep soon...muahahaa.
No progress on house yesterday, but we did meet the next-door-neighbor. A cop! Very talkative chap, friendly. Big and burly, too. Will be very nice to have a law enforcement fella in the neighborhood. His wife is in law school and they have a 10-month old. Can't imagine juggling law school and baby- goodness! And they both have very long commutes ( >1 hour)!
Will probably go grocery shopping today to get some provisions for our trip to GA on Thursday. There was something else I needed to do, but for the life of me can't remember. Should try to wake up a bit first.

Miss ya bud. Mornings in the Hobbit Hole just aren't the same without ya. Hope all is well with you and yours.
To: Lil'freeper
Grrrr.......they took my printer, my samples didn't run, the hoods aren't working...
Other than that it's a good day!
