Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Oh, I forgot about it!!! I've been so busy!
I'll see if I can get around to it this evening...life has been exhausting today!

Oh, don't worry, I thought you had already done it.

I think tabouli is basically just lettuce with lemon juice.

Well, my neighbors down the street got over a dozen chickens that they let run around in the yard. I thought, "Hey...I could at least do that!" Then I found out about the chicken tractor type coop and figured that would be the way to go.
So, if it is a fad, I picked up on it!

Well around here for sure it is a good fad. Might get rid of the tick problem.

Does Lisa know not to have a very big water bowl or very deep. Chicks will drown, I know from experience:( I would want her kids to find some drowned.

Now this is the way to make taboli. I'm down to the parsley, and it hasn't been to bad yet. Usually I am getting really bored by now:)
Becky
OK everyone! At long last the day is coming to an end (at least as far as work goes). I must get home and tend to my children!
Until tomorrow!

I told her...we discussed it. She was going to S. Agriculture in BA to get a proper waterer. She's just going to use a pie tin for food...

Finished tieing down the tarpage on the hay, now the dust will have a harder time getting on it.
You can see why it would frighten an Arab horse.... it looks remarkably like a tiger eh?

Hullo!
Well, week is half over... I am trying to decide whether to watch some incessantly cheerful anime, or write a nice depressingly bleak story. Either one should make me feel better... hmm... have to go to the store first, though if I want dinner tonight or lunch tomorrow...

Good job. And yes, from an Arabs point of view VERY scary :)

When uncertain, I would always opt for the cheerful path.

BTW, did you leave some out to use. When we use to use hay, and would get a load in and stacked all neat, I always wanted to just leave it there to look at for a while. I always hated to start using it. Nothing like a fresh stack of baled hay:)
Becky
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
No... I didn't leave any out, and I understand the sentiment not to mess it up!
I will start using it from the doors backward, and that end is secured with a bungee that will be easy to unhook and reach under. That is why I tarped it all the way to the ground on the side that faces the stalls. That is where all the dust comes from, and that hay will be used last.

Hello...this week is taking forever!
Still troubleshooting DVD problems, I have an interview on Friday and nothing good to wear, studies that need to be finished in 2 weeks, a trip to KC to plan, and paperwork to fill out so the company will pay for it all.
And....got a call from a LaJolla CA number from someone who wants to talk about my resume. Should I waste money to call him back and tell him that CA is flushing down the toilet faster than NC is?
Oh....and what do I fix for dinner?
To: RosieCotton; PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
I could live on tabouli. mmmmmmm... tabouli... had a great source for real tabouli in VA... I haven't found any here in deepest darkest MO... gotta start makin' it m'self from scratch I guess...
