The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I guess the idea for the "Neverending Investment Club" will not be getting off the ground anytime soon?

Umm....the stuff I have grows in partial shade. You might want to try Irish Moss, I don't think it's a real moss:

More info here.

I have a little left over. Might just have another helping for dinner tonight.
I could live on tabouli.

How about a parkway? why do they call a place where you drive a parkway
and a place where you park a driveway?
To: g'nad
Moss will grow in the sun, if your soil is crappy enough. ;o)
Have you considered just 'burying' the flat stones so that they are just above the level of the dirt? Then you could let the grass grow up between and around them, and when comes time to mow, just roll right over stones to cut the grass.
SSQ has thought about doing this in lieu of an asphalt driveway for the new place. Actually it would be just two 'strips' of paveing stones to roll on, with the grass growing up between them.

Houston, the chickens are hatching! We have one baby out now. We're fixin' to go home. I don't have my camera, because I didn't know we'd be coming over...we just happened to be at my mom's eating lunch when the kids came and got us.
Oops! Make that two babies out now!

So THAT's where all of the Walmarts are!!
We've only got one regular one in Kendall. To check out the Super Walmart, you've got to drive down to the end of the Florida Turnpike, just before the entrance to the Keys!!

Near East makes a good box version of tabouli (sp?), but home-made is always the best :-)
To: RMDupree
NOOOOO...don't do that. If it is not homemade it is not any good:) Really, you need fresh homegrown stuff. Bixby, where I live is famous for fresh vegetables. It is called the garden spot of the US. So there are all kinds of produce stores around.

If it's that popular, I'm sure the deli section makes it fresh. They do that with sushi around here.
If not, I'll just try out the recipe Rosie put out.

I just got an interesting call from a neighbor. She is getting alot of exoctic chickens, and is going to give me eggs to hatch from them when they start laying, she has a pair of peacocks too.
But the interesting thing she told me is this month in Readers Digest is an article about a new fad sweeping the nation....raising chickens for pets:)....LOL, seems your ahead of the game 2J. Suppose we could cash in on it.
