The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, thank you, sir! You are a gentleman.
Hope this breaks your funkle. :)

Maybe I should send them to the second tier. :) Well, you have a choice. Look at 2nd tier, or start with that packing routine. :-) da de da dum de da de dam (jeopardy tune) which will it be?
Haven't thought about third tier yet huh? or taco bell?

I need to get the rest of that ice cream out of the house. :) I could help with that ice cream if I was there. As long as it's not pistachio or butter pecan. I would consider helping with butter pecan though - for a friend.

LOL -- Just got up from a nap. I don't think there was enough nap there this time though.
I always really enjoyed my kids. They were very different and I did very different things with each of them. But, I liked being with them and doing stuff with 'em.

I'm very familiar with the Atkins deal. I have had 3 friends that I ate lunch at work with every day go on it. 2 of them lost over 100 pounds. Trouble was none of them maintained afterward and all 3 gained much more weight back than they lost.

AWWW Man what I just said was really a downer. I didn't mean that way. I just want to emphasize the stick with it. Stay with it. Enjoy the exercise. So you don't have to do this part again.
AND it is awesome to get in that dress that hasn't fit in so long!!!

Excercise would, but I can't FReep when I'm excercising... I'm havin' a lot of that problem lately.
And gees, the waterways up here are horrible. I used to get out in the kayak at this time of the year and leisurely explore shores. GAK not here.

By the way - I just feel like I have to brag - it's official now. I have lost 30 pounds and 2 sizes since March Hurrrray! WTG!

Have either of you tried low-carb tortillas? Yes! The ones from LaTortilla Factory are quite yummy (in a whole wheat sorta way)! Super high in fiber...just give your colon fair warning. ;)

Somebody else doesn't like their bun? I like my buns quite a bit more now that they're two sizes smaller. :P

Sumpin weird happened in my head while I read your post.
after I read this line "Great SW cooking at the Brown Jug in Winslow AZ," there was this song goin' through my head, sumthin' about standing on a corner in....
Then, I got to the flat enchiladas!!! They do those in northern Mexico you know. On their side of the border. With an egg. I made those for Myranda for lunch the day before her high school graduation. She was graduatin' leavin' for Germany in 36 hours. I wanted her to feel special and homey. First time I'd made 'em in 10 years or so. But, MMMmmm... now I wisht I had another one. But, that's a lot of trouble just for one person. :-)

So, what's the deal? Are ya'll both Atkins dieting? I did this winter; am doing maintainence now. My carb allowance is such that I can eat pretty much what I want within reason. Tonite was London broil, wax beans w/ butter, and salad. Yum!
A bit of good news, our company last night was a longtime family friend...and insurance salesman. We were updating our policies and my husband's blood work was so good since starting Atkins that he fell in the absolute lowest risk category. That makes me very, very happy. Thanks again, Dr. Atkins.

Sangre de Christos are still there and still breath-taking. You're making me soooo homesick! I spent five summers in those mountains working for the scouts. Truly God's country.

Look at 2nd tier, Hmmm....there was that LCMS,MS position that sounded interesting only it's a 6 month contract.

I haven't lost a durned thing! I weighed myself today so that's a fact! I went through a spell where I was the exact same weight for two months! It was horrible but then whooosh. Cutting the soy out of the diet helped a bit, too, I think.

I could help with that ice cream if I was there. Oh that's okay...I wouldn't want to put anyone out. :)

The last one I opened says: Chocolate - who needs a reason? Hey girl! Checking in from the Gulf Coast. One of my cousins brought some 'Sugar Free' chocolate candy. It was deliscious! She even had a Whitman's Sampler in the Sugar Free!
We finally got a chance to swim today, and I got a bit of a tan. At least I don't have to go back to MA looking like a pasty face!
It POURED rain the last couple of days. We had a huge thunderstorm yesterday; even lost power for an hour and my sisiter's phone went out because of water in the lines!
We're all making ourselves beautiful (hah) and we're going out to eat, then make our annual offering to the casino gods. I hope we get a chance to watch Greek Wedding tonight. Several of the girls have yet to see it, so that should be a blast!
