Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Having HairOfTheDog Surprise Version 2.1.
This time not cheeseburger macroni, but two batches of Fettucini Alfredo, two chicken breasts, and two full tomatos. Got about a gallon of it for the week!

Here's our new education building...the sanctuary is just to the right of it, but you can't see it in this picture. It was built debt-free (as will this building) and everyone that donated toward the building could have their names engraved in a brick. We all four have our names in the bricks...even Joshua.

It's like a grilled chicken fettucini? Looks really good!
Hey, Steve and I were chuckling about this woman in Sunday school today. (I know, we're terrible.)Anyway, she was dressed up with really spikey "raspberry purplish" hair and really "mod" clothing an fake fingernails and funky looking ear-rings with her nose pierced and the whole nine yards (this is a middle-aged Sunday school class, Steve and I are the youngest in the class.) Anyway, you know the type? Can you picture what she looked like?
Every now and then (when he speaks) Steve will say something that just cracks me up and he did today. He asked me "Do you think that woman in Sunday school class is a non-comformist?" I asked why he was asking and he said "Because she looks just like every other non-comformist!"
ROFLOL!

Smeagol's haircut.

She doesn't look like she thinks I'm her friend does she? Even though she's had an egg 2 days in a row. Bet she's like some HOTD Special any version though.

Oh what a forlorn sight! - Smeagol looks violated and embarrassed. You better make some HOTDOG surprise.
To: Corin Stormhands; HairOfTheDog
I was mostly just joking about the grandmother thing. Mostly, because now she's getting her foot down and will descend upon us again in June.... Oh well.
Borders was fun. I got a book called Pandora's Legions. It's old SF by a guy named Christopher Anvil whom I just discovered and am enjoying.

I wonder if the cat feels embarrassed today.... Yesterday I think he was too drunk to care.
To: 2Jedismom
There's some people in our church that are disturbed by us. It bothers them that my belly button is pierced and they think I let Myranda wear her skirts too short.
all I can say is:
I gonna tell you all a story bout a Harper Valley widow wife, Had a teenage daughter who attended Harper Valley Junior High!
LOL No! I don't have purple spiked hair!!!!! but I might have to now for entmoot!!!!
To: 2Jedismom
Yeah - non-conformists definately have the same look!

Yep. I have humiliated the pooch. And the eggses didn't even get her over it. Maybe I should have covered the eggs with the Everclear!
To: JenB
I am glad Jen! - You need to be nice to your Grandmother! Her life has been interesting, the changes she has seen!

Yeah - non-conformists definately have the same look! Best defined as SCARY!!!!
To: Wneighbor
Oh, it didn't bother us at all! We're very much "to each his own" kinda people. But we just thought it was funny that this lady who was trying to be "different" looked just like every other person with purplish hair and pierced nose. I felt like walking up to her and saying "You know, if you really want people to think you are different and an individual, try walking in here butt naked."
But I've already got in one fight in this class...
