Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yeah...in a wooded subdivision. I have a mental image of the whole neighborhood going up in smoke!

OH, I thought country. Not sub-division. But, I thought it was raining.
Sometimes I miss having to burn my trash. There's something cleansing about burning a barrel of garbage.

Every Corgi I have ever met had a fantastic personality.... When we lived in an apt. in NJ, our neighbor had a sister who raised and showed corgis. We went to dinner at their place one night when she was visiting with her two pet corgis. They were crate dogs, and were the sweetest things. Our #2 was about 3 at the time and he and one of those dogs just ran each other all over the apt. chasing each other. David was just squealing with delight, and the dog was having a grand old time. Luckily, they weren't annoying the adults.
After a couple of hours both of them collapsed. The dog just made it to his crate and plopped down, and David crawled up on the couch and conked. The woman who owned the dogs got the biggest kick out of them because they were having such fun.

It's kind of country. We're not inside any city limits, but it is a subdivision.

I had a collie when I was a little kid, until he ate the neighbor's lawn furniture.Whatsa matter? You didn't feed him regularly? ;o)
To: Overtaxed
Yup. Poor baby. I accidentally cut her ear in a spot. I felt so bad! But, she was good. And she got her garlicy egg. That's 2 days in a row. She probably thinks she died and went to heaven.
But, she needs another bath now that I got all that extra winter fur off her.

am snacking on leftover donuts from Sunday School!Mmmm. Donuts!
To: Overtaxed
But you have burn ordinanances? I would burn if not. I don't like not getting to have a fire in the yard.
ksen, can we build a fire on the beach at the entmoot castle?
To: SuziQ
Whatsa matter? You didn't feed him regularly? ;o) Obviously needed more bulk in the diet.
To: SuziQ; Wneighbor
Yep...chocolate frosted.
We have worship at our sancuary where we're building our new education building...but until it gets built, we have Sunday school at an old church we bought. So, on the way from worship (first hour) to Sunday school, we bought a couple dozen to share in our class.

Well. Burning is good for stuff that would normally be shredded. Like ex-husband's important mail. Collection notices. Any mail from Dumocrats.
To: 2Jedismom; Overtaxed
Yeah, There's always the grill. You can burn your shreddables in the grill.
To: Wneighbor; 2Jedismom

Didn't you tell us it was raining there? A bit over dramatic for a rainstorm isn't it?
To: Overtaxed
Do you have a fireplace? Burn them in the fireplace!
