The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I just had a nice evening. Went to the park and biked around for about twenty-five minutes. That's the first exercise I've done in about forever. Then my sister and I went to the Chinese buffet for dinner.

Work was, well, work. But I'm not working now! What's up?

OT: depending on what part, he may have a long or short commute, they are annexing so far south, they may not stop till they run into 2J's place.

I am still working, sending out a bunch of faxes.... Bought some new horse clippers I am eager to go try out.

My dad wants me to bring them up next weekend and shave our kitty #6.

Working? At this hour? Take a break, girl!

And... well, if you need horseclippers for a cat, might as well go all the way and use the weedwhacker.

It isn't so much that the horse clippers are needed, it is that my dad can't do it because he will get shredded by the cat.

If you had every tried to shave a cat, you would understand!

Last year, he took the cat to a groomer, and the groomer was not able to finish, got shredded, and I don't think wants the return business!

I can handle him OK, but I recommended to Dad that he go to the vet and get some kitty downers.... He is a really long-haired cat, and not only is he prone to mats, but also hacking up hairballs.... so dad likes him shaved in the spring but my old clippers were kaputz.

Well, I think if you covered it in steak sauce and let it play with some dogs, you wouldn't have to worry about shaving it.

There are cat repellents out there containing nasty stuff like nicotine and dried cattle blood. You sprinkle in your flowerbeds, and it offends the cat's delicate sensibilities, and picks some other place to honor with its potty visit.

...or you could just put chicken wire on the ground so it's uncomfortable on their little pawses.

Hehehe

He said it was near where the ...um...loopy highway intersects with the highway south (69? 96? I don't have a map in front of me!) to Stilwell.

OT: probably near the I-435 (circumferential highway) and US 69. I-435 runs e/w there, US 69 being the n/s. Lots of subdivisions in the area, as well as office parks and shopping centers. Nice area if the wood-roofed suburbs is your cup of tea.

If the Texas Democrats can meet in Oklahoma, I guess that it is ok for Hobbits to meet there.

Hobbits :^) can meet anywhere that the word "feed" is involved. LOL

Okay Hair, Becky can get by with not reading the Silmarillion yet, but you my dear, need to read it at least before Entmoot!

Put that on your to-do list - okay?

Throw in some corn and lima beans, and you got yourself a Brunswick Stew!
