The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Ok, I gotta go for a while. Be back later! You going to check out the new library? It's right down there on the right past the turnpike/169 overpass off Memorial. We're going here in a while.

No, I've got such a busy day/week, I was getting ready to sign off too.

I need to spend at least 3-4 hours the next two days on my horse, competion this weekend. The shoer is suppose to come today. We are having a family cook out Wed. That means house cleaning, mowing, and cooking. THurs. I have to get ready to go, and Fri. I leave around noon. I am already overwhelmed.

No way you can say "This is a rooster...see it's little nuggets?"

Uhm... is that where McDonald's gets them from?

Oh, good morning!

Good Morning! Lord, I've got to cool my heels for a couple of weeks...and I'm too antsy for that! Realtor came on Sunday and is coming back on Wednesday with more details (we're getting prepared in case we have to move the house STAT). The good news is she said the house could go as quickly as in a week from posting...if it is priced correctly. The bad news about pricing correctly is you can't bleed that extra 5K or so out of it!!! The market's apparently red hot (interest rates), so our timing may be good...that is, if everything works out.

Wait, wait, wait (and hope the unemployment comp comes through).

Still waiting on a check? - Eeeek!

Good luck on the quick sale if you do end up moving.... My Dad's house here sold to one of the first people that looked at it. It sounds like you are already preparing to go!

Too many big adventures this morning! - It is making me tired! When is lunch?

It sounds like you are already preparing to go!

Yes, we think the odds are probably over 50% that this thing will work out...so we decided to prepare to move very fast if it happened right away (on my road trip in two weeks). If it doesn't work out...then nothing lost, but a little time doing good spring cleaning out. We're too antsy not to do anything.

Yeah, the unemployment checks haven't begun arriving yet...because I technically resigned -- even with a footprint in my butt -- they have to go through this 3-5 week review thing. That'll probably work out OK too, but this no-man's-land is a bit of a nerve wracking thing. (Am I or am I not a month from starvation?)

Cute pics, 2J! Congrats to your family for Matthew's successful year in homeschool! Joshua looks fine. He just needs some sun, which it sounds like he got on Sunday!

Matthew has already suggested that after a while we could just eat these and get some more.

Well chicks are probably more fun than the grown ones anyway. This way, they continually have some little chicks to play with. You could get the new chicks a couple of weeks before the big ones disappear, so their minds won't be on eating their pets.

OK - you can have a couple sammiches.
