Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I managed to shoot out 2 floodlights in a tree with one potato, this caused a rather funny chain reaction that led to a "ghost" story. Sam, you promised not to be a menace to the neighborhood with it!
To: Wordsmith
Harsh indeed. If it don't break your heart - ya ain't human!
To: Wordsmith
I always thought that Erkenbrand and Dernhelm were the coolest Rohirrim names. I always liked the sound of "Helm Hammerhand".
To: Corin Stormhands
Hmmmmm....are you sure you're not a dwarf?I'm dwarvish in that I like doing crafting stuff, but those things tend to the artsy like flower arrangements and jewelry (sounds positively elvish, doesn't it?) But I guess I'm more hobbity in that I love cooking, eating, hanging around home and general merriment!

Okay....here's the
low G. I get a little out of breath playing it.

I didn't say Dawntreader HAD to read the whole thread, but you must admit, it does give a newbie a good idea of the kind of folks who inhabit the Hole! ;o)

Congratulations Rosie!! Best of luck! Thanks, Suzi! I'm really excited about this...

Jen's grounded.....Why, what happen? Or is it none of my business?
To: HairOfTheDog
I also loved "you're late. You look terrible!"- Definately a line written for the fans that have been in this gritty Aragorn vs. pretty boy elf debate! I liked that too. Partly because it kind of plays on the contrast between the two, and also because it just shows how cool Legolas is. Here's Aragorn back from the dead, more or less, and he doesn't bat an eyelash!

Jen's grounded..... Why, what happen?
I think Jen's mom grounded everyone...a post-holiday depression thing, I think.
To: Sam Cree
My daughter who is 17 uses a 20 GA automatic. She likes it and it's good for her.
To: Sam Cree
SC: You may want to consider a 20 double, lively in the hand, excellent pointability and balance, pleasant to the eye, choice of two chokes, (IC & M) preferably with a English stock and forend if SXS and black packmyer. 6's in IC & 4's in M.
To: Dawntreader
Hi! I've only been here a couple of weeks now myself. Hope you like this as much as I do.
(I cheated and lurked for a long time and knew I really liked everyone so much that I had to try and jump in.)

Okay....here's the low G. I get a little out of breath playing it. Very nice. What kind of low G is it? My brother got a super duper fancy low G for Christmas - from North Carolina, actually! A place called Celtic Trader. He met the guy at a bagpipe festival in GA and has been wanting one of his whistles ever since, so he was delighted. It sounds very nice.
To: Wordsmith
she gets all dreamy eyed towards him and then sees Legolas hand him back the Evenstar. Harsh! sigh. hmmm. sounds like something that would come about in my love life. hmmm....... so sad.
To: RosieCotton
What kind of low G is it? It's a Shaw.

"Did you mean TheOneRing.Net? - I am not even aware of a message board at Lordoftherings.net. I have never registered over there. I don't know anyone here who does. I find their board software to be really horrid to drive around in, so I haven't read it much!"No..it's on the official movie website..lordoftherings.net It actually takes you to a Netscape board. I don't like the format, but have been learning lots about the books as I haven't read them yet. Once in a while you get the "I love Legolas" post, but a lot are very insightful lol. (Not that I don't love Legolas mind you ;-)
To: Dawntreader
So does that mean you are an elf-friend! - Welcome!
I should check out the other board you speak of... I didn't even know about it. Though I get my fill here!
I have been known to do a little bit of Legolas admiring of my own!
