Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, Gatorade serves a higher purpose than Tang.
Its all about electrolytes.

Perhaps the size of the Slim Jim doesn't really matter.

True...but I am thinking for writing Tang and asking if they want to send them some? Nothing ventured nothing gained!

Well let me pay off the last batch and order some more, then. :)
To: 2Jedismom
Sure! - Or.... if you can't get a response from Kraft because they are a megopolis, you might find a local grocer who would donate some.

Whatever you want to do, sis! I'm here to serve!
The books will probably be ordered Tuesday and I will still have to wait for them to come in. I've already got the boxes set up and ready to fill.

My bunnies where out again, but they always run away before I can get a picture of themWe have a couple of bunnies who like to nibble on the clover in our yard. They've gotten to where we can come out on the deck and talk to them, and they don't run away. I was out in the back yard doing some digging up of dead grass for to reseed, when I turned around and there was a bunny about 10 feet from me. It didn't even flinch. I guess it was used to me enough to know I wasn't going to hurt it. They're just so CUTE! OF course if I had a garden and it was nibbling on IT I may not lick them as well, but they're cute now.

My early-on leader is Boise, Idaho -- which is pretty conservative too. Hey...but if something popped in Tulsa...I'm there!
To: HairOfTheDog
I'll avoid the middle then...and I'm trying to avoid the left...so I guess that means take the right path.
To: Wneighbor
I'll add YOU to our Parish Prayer line along with Scott for finding a new job!

They're just so CUTE! OF course if I had a garden and it was nibbling on IT I may not lick them as well, I am not sure I would lick my bunnies even if they would let me. ;~D

Thanks Suzi. I just got in from church and first thing I did was send out an email to everyone back home that might have a job lead for me. I also checked the websites. Nothing going there right now. But, since I'm off for 3 weeks if I can get one of these vehicles in good enough shape I may go down and make the rounds of the job-shopping places. Just to see what it's like.

The chaplain is requesting Tang. The chaplain shall have Tang.
To: 2Jedismom
Well, I always see the soldiers carrying around gatorade and I wonder if the gatorade is donated... I've heard my son-in-law refer to being "issued" gatorade. I love gatorade. He doesn't sound like he likes it as much as I do.

Hmmm...why won't the college let you work a side job? It's a community college, right? Around these parts community college courses are often taught by people in industry. When we hire people as adjuncts they come from industry. But, I'm a full-time instructor. So, supposedly I'm like in charge of the program. And that's supposed to be my only job. And being involved in anything else could be a conflict of interest or demeaning to the college or something. It's a crock.
If I'm supposed to be head of this program I should get paid at least comparable to what I would get in industry. The new college president just started enforcing that rule this year. He is even threatening long-time instructors who own rental property saying that is a conflict of interest. And some of those are situations where maybe one of the parents have died and that instructor just kept the property for supplemental income. It's not like any of us - even the ones with degrees - make a mint.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Yes Scott, we are in a similar boat. I really can't complain. I do still have a job. It's just that since it's with the state, the state can change the rules on you without being accountable - right? uh, i don't think so. I'm just at a crossroads where I think it's time to NOT take that obvious middle tunnel or whichever one it is where the air smells foul. And take the RIGHT one.
