The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thank you for entertaining Smeagol. The prof has dismissed us. Now home for dinner and to watch General Hospital.
Smeagol appreciates all of you.
Remember... keep it secret... keep it safe...
Smeagol's pocket is a good place for that.

Have you been good... in terms of the religious wars. Mostly. the [FR Fifth Amendment] Mascot was banned. Although we suspect we've discovered his "new" name.
I had a few exchanges with Mom the other day and Dr. E. Then rwfromkansas got all snotty, so I left that thread. I still pop in from time to time...

Be sure your spams will find you out!

Now home for dinner and to watch General Hospital. How quirky is that? :~D

I haven't been across the Mackinac Bridge. But the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland (from Annapolis to the Eastern Shore) is similar in nature. They have toll booth employees assigned to drive folks across if they need them to.

Later, I gotta go work on a project...

Why waste your time and money on boring English classes?
To: HairOfTheDog
I don't like adventures!
Frodo is shocked, shocked I tell you!
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Frodo would agree with me on this... Adventures sound fun, but before you know it, you are a thousand miles from home with a weird little guy that talks to himself and tries to get you eaten by a spider!
To: carton253
Not badly, actually. I think I got As in all three classes. It'll be nice to have some free time, though. I'm hoping to do some writing this summer. I actually had a new inspiration today. That gives me hope.

Happy Birthday in advance!!
Are you planning to go and see X-Men 2 this weekend, to celebrate?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Yup! Sunday afternoon, with three of my friends, and then out to the Chinese buffet for dinner. It's gonna be great.

I am not going to wish you happy birthday until tomorrow, so I will feel really bad if you get hit by a meteor or lightning or something tonight. ;~D
To: HairOfTheDog
I will avoid standing out in thunderstorms, then.

Great! I just purchased our tickets (online). We'll be going Saturday afternoon, at the place which serves food while you watch the movie. Really looking forward to it!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Don't spoil it for me! We can discuss it Sunday night.
I guess you're not going for Hugh Jackman's rugged good looks, though, are you?

I'm also very curious to see if they portray Nightcrawler's religious convictions accurately... my suspicion is they won't, but then director Brian Singer has been good about staying faithful to the source material, so I'm hopeful.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
See, I don't know the X-men at all. Nightcrawler has religious convictions?
Wolverine is definitely the coolest X-man, though.

Question for the hole:
I'm trying to get a good bookshelf display version of LOTR. I hate the red one volume one, I think it's ugly. But hansome leatherbound is definitely the look I'm gunning for, just not that particular hansome leatherbound. I already picked up the green Hobbit so complimenting that (which the red one volume doesn't) is preferred. Anybody know what edition I'm looking for? Still in print or hunt at the used places? I've seen a couple of possibly good ones on the web but it's can be hard to tell in a 120x80 pixel picture if it's really good.
Thanks
