Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, but the camo yellows, browns and reds are so dull and cold that I think they work OK anyhow on winters. Those are warms it's true, yet they are cool warms, mostly.

Hey, thanks for the tip Corin...I saw three positions that were a good match and one that was a dead ringer (Stateside Associates). They are all in the D.C. area -- which is a bit of a big gulp for this western guy -- but there you have it. I applied for all three anyway!
That was very helpful, Corin, thanks a bunch.

If you move to DC you'll need a new screenname, right?
To: Scott from the Left Coast
saw three positions that were a good match Yeah! Maybe we even help Scott get a good conservative job from the Hobbit Hole. :-) That would be cool, even if you had to switch your coast.
Night all. It's time for me to rest for tomorrow.
To: Wneighbor
'Night. A cup of hot chocolate and it's off to the land of Nod.
To: Overtaxed
Yup. Either that or instead of standing on the shore looking north (the coast on my left), I'll stand on the shore over there and look south (the coast is still on my left).
It's possible...one of those positions looked like it was written personally for me.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Cool! Good luck with it!

Scott, you made Seattle sound like Mordor. I've heard it's beautiful, though.

Gnad; welcome Home to Missouri " The Show Me State " Glad to hear you're mostly moved in. We're practically neighbors, well both south of the Missouri River. Drop a line when you get a chance and we'll celebrate the the arrival of the newest member of our stalwart company.
To: HairOfTheDog
YIKES! That guy standing in the tree in the bright green reminds me of the movie "Predator"!
To: g'nad
Met a lot of neighbors, everyone seems friendly enough. We like it here. Great to hear from you , g'nad!! Glad y'all got there safely and that the Missus is doing well! Rest up, and join us when you can!

I love the little snowy numberMuch as I don't like snow, those colors would do best on me. I had my colors done when I lost a lot of weight about 20 yrs. ago; unfortunately it found me again! Anyway, I found out I'm a winter/autumn. I'm mostly a winter in that I look good in bright strong colors and black, but I cannot wear pure white. I look like death warmed over! I always knew that; even my bridal gown was 'Candlelight'. I can't do muddy colors. They make me look washed out. My favorite colors are true red, imperial purple, teal blue, and royal blue.
No shrinking violet, I!

Seattle borders Mordor -- Olympia is Mordor. If you can imagine San Francisco and Berkeley, Seattle and Olympia are political twins to these, with worse weather.
I've lived here all my life...and I'm a bit tired of the oppressive Stalinist politics (having had those politics cause me to lose my job didn't help) and, really, the weather gets a bit much after awhile (a couple of years ago we had 93 straight days of rain -- imagine, three months with dark black clouds 50 feet over your head, and it gets pretty dark up here in the winter anyway).

It's possible...one of those positions looked like it was written personally for me. Maybe it was! We HAVE been praying for you, you know! ;o)

Ummmmmm....keep at it...now is no time to get lax...

Did anyone ever answer you about the CDs? They are indeed selling them, but if you give them an APO address, they'll send it to it for free. Well, since I won't disclose the APO address I have for the chaplain, the guy that is doing the CDs is sending me one to my home address to forward on to the chaplain!
You sure bet I'm getting them one!
