Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That is good! - And you will have someone to see the movie with!

I like the Southern Baptist churches where they hand you a fan to cool yourself with when you walk in. The little Catholic chapel we used to attend in the summers when we went to our fishing camp didn't have A/C for many years. We used those fans all the time! That was the first time I had ever seen a picture of Yosemite Natl. Forest. I didn't even know how to pronounce it; I called it Yose-MITE, LOL!! We didn't get A/C there until I was about 10, and boy did it ever get hot during Mass there on the Gulf Coast of MS!!

Well, she's 8 months pregnant, so it's not likely she and I will get a chance to go before she's "out of commission" for a bit. But it's wonderful to have someone to discuss things with. First thing we discussed was "what the heck happened to Faramir?" Hehehe, I was really glad I had read that one interview so I could give her some ideas. She has only seen TTT once, though, so I talked her into going a second time. We will see if she has a different perspective on him then.
I do have another friend/co-worker who is going to see it with me at the Cinerama too. But she is going to wait for the crowds to die down, even if that means waiting until February! LOL...

He led the congregation in some of his songs, and it was hilarious watching all those 'rhythm impaired' Yankees trying to clap on the FIRST beat of the measures rather than the second! I haven't heard the distinction as being the Yankees that clap on 1 and 3...
Around here (in the home of the new Lincoln statue) we usually say it's us white folk that can only clap on 1 and 3...

Hmmm. Jr. looks like the tallest of King Cole's Fiddlers. I guess he does look more like me than the other two fiddlers, huh? :-)

BTW, I was gratified to find out that the extended version of Fellowship was sold out all over the place by the time Christmas arrived. No stores seem to have it at the moment, they're all waiting for new shipments to come in.
I was lucky enough to get the last one at a Barnes and Noble for Irishtenor the other day. But now I found that I need to get another one for my brother...I hate to have to order it from Amazon, but the way it's going I may have to!

I like the Southern Baptist churches where they hand you a fan to cool yourself with when you walk in. You mean the fans with the picture of the Last Supper on one side and the add for the funeral home on the others? We used to get those a camp meeting (I can explain camp meeting some other time...)
Speaking of pictures of the Last Supper....
What did Jesus say to the disciples at the Last Supper?

. If you want to be in the picture, sit on this side of the table.

Interesting! - I didn't realize they were selling out!
Wait till you see my One Ring, and my Evenstar. I will have to decide which to wear, I can't wear both!
The ring is strangely heavy. They did a good job with that, because it is much heavier than it should be for its size. And I still haven't put it on my finger. It just feels wrong to think of it!

Around here (in the home of the new Lincoln statue) we usually say it's us white folk that can only clap on 1 and 3...Well, our town is the WHITEST town I've ever lived in( a very strange feeling coming from the South), so Yankee is synonymous with white! LOL!
But being from the South, I KNOW how NOT to clap like white folks! LOL!
BTW, did I guess correctly which one was you?

We'll make it, Penny! We made it this far.... I don't think Gandalf meant for the wait to take this long...
To: SuziQ
I think FR just burped. I got a DNS error for a few minutes.
To: SuziQ
BTW, did I guess correctly which one you were (the tall one)? You did indeed, and you were the first to get it on the first try!
To: Corin Stormhands
LOL again! You are the designated funny guy for the evening.
To: Corin Stormhands
I have found you now! Just like I pictured you, except for the wig and funny outfit!
And don't worry about the boy. He is a cutie pie with a bright eye... he will go places, even if he never learns to speak french.
To: HairOfTheDog
I think FR just burped. Same here. Somebody having too many vegetables from the holiday buffets?
To: HairOfTheDog
And don't worry about the boy. It's my job to worry, even when things are okay. He'll make it through, I just want him to make it through better than I did.
Thanks for the nice comments. He is a good looking kid isn't he?
