Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I was just reading that thread, LOL! I think it's too early to tell if it is a disinformation type ploy, as one poster on the thread indicated, or if it is real. This could be very serious, or, it could be very series.... With FR, I always take them with a grain of salt until I see multiple confirming threads and sources.....

Yes...that's what I do too...but it sure seems interesting...

Yes it is, but it is kind of scary too. If they did manage to get nasty stuff out to sea like that, it would make it much trickier to try to get it and destroy it without some serious repercussions..... A lot of variables to try to figure out....
To: 2Jedismom
I think I'm leaning toward "series" as are others. There's nothing on any other news sources about it that I can find.
I loved the suggestion someone made over there that they should be forced to port in France ;^)

And "Aragorn needs therapy" is right on. As portrayed, he's on the ragged edge.I like him.... Viggo's is a very human portrayal, but human in a way I admire. I have a soft spot for angst-ridden men though.... most of my favorite loves were very conflicted, tortured souls!
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
LOL Yeah, I liked that too.
Steve is at school...just got out of class about 45 minutes ago and will be staying till probably 10pm doing his "homework". The boys just went to bed. The house is (relatively) orderly, and I'm fixin' to pop myself some corn and freep!

Speaking of news...what do you make of those three ships out in the ocean?? Did you see that? Ships? - Ocean? - What ships? - What ocean?
To: 2Jedismom
I found the ships on the ocean.
I don't know what to think!
To: HairOfTheDog
It twas a good post too!
He's certainly right about the dumb as rocks part. But why is so worried about giving the anti-war movement a bad name? A bad name is all it deserves!
As far as knowing what to do with my life...well, I'm not so certain yet that I'll have any idea after the 3K as I did before it.

Anyone else around??Am sitting here in front of the fire, eating Chocolate Pudding pie that Clare and Joseph made this afternoon. And it happens that the track I was telling OT about earlier, the orchestral version of "Star of the County Down", is playing on my CD player. It is "Variations on Dives and Lazarus" by Ralph Vaughn Williams, one of my favorite composers.

Did you read the conclusion or not?Yes, I read it. It doesn't make sense, though, since the movie didn't end with the flood of Isengard; IIRC, it ended with Gandalf declaring the battle won, but the war just starting, and then the scene of Gollum leading Sam and Frodo into the wilderness.
Honestly, from his essay, I can't decide whether he liked the changes or not.
To: 2Jedismom
'm here freeping and listening to the game. what's up?

As far as knowing what to do with my life...I want my cat's job but it won't pay the bills.
To: 300winmag
Well, I was exaggerating some for the sake of sarcasm. When I first saw the movie I was more upset with some of the changes than I am now. I understand that changes had to be made in adapting the books to film, and I think that this is likely the most faithful adaptation that will ever be made.

Nothin' really, just relaxing with my popcorn and waiting for Steve to come home...My week is practically solo until Friday evening...
