Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Nope...no luck...those cookies won't bake -- I'll trade 'em in on the other variety when next we meet (or moot).
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Oh rats.... well, I will exchange those for the other kind!

Where is everybody else? - How come you and I seem to be the only ones with nothing to do on a Friday night? We're playing Quiddler with the kids. Fixing to send Clare to bed because her head is so cloudy. She woke up yesterday with a sore throat, and this morning she had sneezing and sinus troubles to go with it! This afternoon, I finally told her not to worry about her Geometry. She was having trouble concentrating!
Oh that 'only 1-2" of snow' that the weather man assured us we'd have this morning turned out to be about 10"!! I'm glad I went ahead and got extra eggs, milk, etc at the store yesterday! I didn't have to get out into it at all, just watched it from the kitchen; lovely fat flakes. It is very fluffy, so the kids had no trouble digging out the end of the driveway and clearing out SSQ's side of the driveway after the plow came so he could get back into the driveway when he came home from work.

Some people have had problems with them not tasting like anything. Are they crunchable, are they tasty?
To: SuziQ
Hi Suzi... sounds like you're having a bit of fun there. I'm sick with a stuffy head for the second day. I don't think I'm going to get up tomorrow. I didn't want to get up today but I didn't have a choice...

To: JenB
Poor sick Jen! - I didn't know you had a stuffy head....
Can you say "Thag you very buch"?
To: HairOfTheDog
And toilet paper...
To: HairOfTheDog; JenB
Can you say "Thag you very buch"? She could say it, but I couldn't hear it. I've had a stopped up ear all week. Thinking I need to go to the doctor. 2J said I probably need an antibiotic.
(I'm avoiding work, can you tell?)

I once bought a plunger at 5:00 in the morning from an all night grocery. I walked in and the clerk was all cheerful: "Hi! How are you this morning!!!!?" I said "I am buying a plunger at 5:00 in the morning. How do you think my day is going?"
To: Corin Stormhands
LOL That seems to be the rush hour for kids' medicines

Antibiotic now is better than a ear-ache later!
(Even if it makes you smell musty)

"I am buying a plunger at 5:00 in the morning. How do you think my day is going?" At least the clerks in our store don't ask when I'm there at 4:00 a.m. buying Pediacare, Imodium, Preparation-H and women's, uh...products...

During my midnight visit to Walmart to buy the theatrical release FOTR DVD, the woman ahead of me in the checkout line was buying a shovel. Kinda disturbed me at the time.
To: Corin Stormhands
Are you allergic to amoxycillin?

Antibiotic now is better than a ear-ache later! Yeah, this isn't going away on its own.

To: Overtaxed
Are you allergic to amoxycillin? Nope. Got some?
To: HairOfTheDog
What about bread? - Do you have enough bread?Yep, had a whole loaf of Crunchy Oat Bread for toast and sandwiches.
Had to get up early this morning cause we're getting a new vinyl floor in the kitchen and the floor guy came early to measure. Since I had to get up early, I decided to make Buttermilk Biscuits and cook some Jimmy Dean Sausage. Mmmm, Mmmm, Good!
I've been wanting to make some Challah Bread. I think I'll do that tomorrow. I love to bake when it is cold out!
