Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

To: HairOfTheDog
I'm reading the Russian FoTR ones now... maybe I'm just loopy from the meds, but these are hilarious. More than a little risque as well! :-D

I think it isn't really a vacation when you have been fired... It is good old fashioned hedonism. Not that there is anything wrong with that. ;~D
To: HairOfTheDog
I like hedonism. I can do that.
To: Sam Cree
It's hard for me to get up when I take the thingsMe too. I expect I won't be good for much tomorrow morning, but at the moment I'm feeling rather comfy... like I'm wrapped in cotton. Having never taken illicit drugs, this is as close as I ever get to being "high".

They are good for preventing sea sickness too. 'Course you are always falling asleep on the boat with them, so it's not foolproof.
To: Sam Cree
They are good for preventing sea sickness too. That is good to know... every so often when my sinuses are too stuffed up I will get fluid trapped in my inner ears, which gives me vertigo. Treating it with Sudafed and antihistamines helps everything to drain out and returns me to an even keel (literally).
Well, I am going to give in to the inevitable, and go to bed. Have a good night!

Bear, do you have a minute to go into chat?

Was there a link to some other translations of FoTR? I missed that. Could you post it again, please?

Good morning All.
Looks like a warm day here, w/ highs near 80, fairly sunny, light breeze NNE, which will create a few clouds.
To: HairOfTheDog
Congratulations, Sean!

I always loved the theme to the live action Robin Hood that starred Jason Connery. I think it was sung by Clannad. Are you familiar with that one?Nope, haven't seen that one. Who's Jason Connery? Any relation to Sean?
To: 2Jedismom
Yep, he's giving it to me...just got the email saying so. Woo-hoo! Let us know how you like it!

Heh! I visited the "Engrish" site last night with my wife. All I can say is that gives me one more reason to be proud to be an American. ;^)

I am going to be putting a 4/4 violin up for auction over at E-bay. We paid about $700 for the violin and about $200 for the case and extras. What do you think a realistic starting bid should be?
