Yes, and they have a tang too. Been a long time since I'd had any.

Its funny you mention it today, because yesterday when boy child and I were at the grocery store last night, the woman in line in front of me had bought one...boy child asked what it was...I think I might buy one just to show them.

I'm back. I found an article about the Dream Act.

Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wa., spoke eloquently about the students who have lived here most of their lives, finish high school with an excellent grade point average, but can’t attend college to continue their education because they don’t have a green card. On the other side, Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Az., and Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., spoke against the bill. They argued that the passage of S.1291 would give more incentives to immigrants to come to this country illegally. They also emphasized in their arguments that the bill would reward “lawbreakers” who have come to this country undocumented and then remained here without changing their status.

Continued here!

Shaking my head on this one. What part of illegal do some people NOT get?

Wow! Just what did the teacher say that got her so mad?

MORNING EVERYONE!! I called Dad last night to remind him of the meteor shower...now it seems as if I wasted my time!

Heard about James Coburn dying. I never thought much about him one way or the other until recently. Another familar face missing.

Speaking of missing faces, prayers to all of our freeper friends missing in action. And Deej, I wasn't able to post yesterday when we heard the sad news. Many prayers and hugs go with you on your journey in Atlanta.

Raven, so sorry to hear of your loss. But it seems as if sunshine has dawned brightly. What an adventure to build a new house! Will it be done for Christmas? (((smiles)))

Mr. Mulliner, I think of you often for lots of reasons but especially since I envision you in class!

janey, a Guennie is certainly in order. Guess there's no new news?

The LAST thing I want is for this bunch to get after me. HAHAHA and we have back-up troops like my Dad who often asks about you since he shared the experience of losing his beloved mate with you. He says take care of yourself too. Glad to see you back.

The continuation of blaming whites for everything. She believes there are injustices everywhere...move on..get over it..and learn from your experiences.

Gosh, some people just never get it. It's a shame that some people just don't want to take responsibility for themselves!

I don't know if you happened to catch my grousing comments yesterday, but it was a bad day as a teacher. I had a hard time dragging myself out of bed at 5:30 this morning.

However, I'm here now and want to make the most of my teaching day. Today our Reading class assignment is a C. S. Lewis graduation speech called "The Inner Ring." I look forward to it, but it's a test for me to make the adjustments that I think the students are expecting out of me today.

Thanks for your encouragement. I'll need lots of that to decide to keep this job and keep commuting.

I started the thread before I left for work this morning....in between finding my shoes (no thanks to a certain little puppy) and getting the house up and ready too.

Dad took the day on Sunday to relax it was so nice. After church he went out to breakfast and then played pool at a place called BJ's in (I think) East Norriton.

I hear you had a nice week-end too.

Mail call in a minute.

Molly, today our Reading class is doing "The Inner Ring," a commencement speech by C. S. Lewis. Have you ever read it? I know it's been posted at FR and I do recommend it.

Thursday we're doing Clarence Thomas's speech from when he received some award and I gave it the title Courage and Civil Society. I think it's a good antidote to whiny liberalism.

I couldn't find a good 3rd piece for this week so on Friday I'll give a mid-term exam since it's the last day before our one-week Thanksgiving break.
