This is the oldest scam on the books -- I'm surprised it's still making the rounds.
I'm not surprised, however, whenever I hear that there are a lot of people on this planet who are dumb enough to fall for these things.

Nigeria makes a large portion of its money from these SCAMS.
Do not respond or do anything. It's a BIG TIME SCAM. Nigerians specialize in that(not all, just these scams are run by them)

These messages are from Nigeria. Hundreds go out everyday.
To: meandog
Total scam. I get one or two of these a month. First time I've seen a woman's name, though.
To: meandog
Yeah, it's the standard Nigerian scam. They used to do it by mail. Now they e-mail the crap. You can count on your bank accounts being cleaned out if you respond to them.

Forward that e-mail, with all headers intact, to the Secret Service. Their e-mail address for that is "419.fcd@usss.treas.gov". This is an example of "Section 419 Fraud," a scam run out of some central African countries.

POSSIBLE scam?
It IS from Nigeria, all right, and this cr*p has been flooding the U.S. for months now.
Send her a polite note - or do like me and tell her exactly what you think of "her."

I'm also willing to bet that the name "Chike Egobia" translates to "go f#ck myself" in Swahili or some such language.

I've recieved a number of these myself, although I've never fully understood what they are trying to accomplish. Are they trying to tap bank accounts? I would hope most people are smart enough to never give personal banking information out.
To: meandog
And... YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY WON A KOOL 1,000,000,000.00 - do you want to know for sure? Well... just give me a couple of days so that I could set my 900 number. Then you dial that number and... it will tell you the absolute truth.
To: Chemist_Geek; meandog
Excellent advice. I was about to suggest sending it to the FBI, apparently the SS handles this junk. That or just delete and ignore it.
