The President must veto Ted Kennedy's "hate crimes" bill!
We are all familiar with Romans 1:27:
Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which is due. (NKJV)
Senator Ted Kennedy has many times proposed legislation making it a "hate crime" to insult homosexuals. Now it appears that he could actually get his legislation passed in the Democrat controlled Senate.
Senator Daschle, Democrat leader of the Senate, is ready to allow Ted Kennedy's Senate bill number S-625 onto the floor for a vote. The bill has 51 co-sponsors which means it is almost certain to pass unless someone has a change of heart and votes against this outrage.
Make no mistake about what this new "hate crimes" law would do. S-625 defines as a "hate crime" the intimidation of anyone "motivated by prejudice based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation of disability of the victim."
This is not limited to violent acts, but to what anyone can define as "hostility." Under the Ted Kennedy bill, creating a "climate of hate" is a crime.
In my newsletters I have clearly stated that Islam is not a religion of peace. I could go to jail for saying that Mohammed was a pervert, murderer and thief ... even though he was all of those things ... because I would be creating a "climate of hate."
I could also be put in jail because I have at the top of this letter referred to Romans 1:27 in the Word of God!
The situation gets worse. Under this legislation a Christian school could be shut down for refusing to hire a homosexual to coach the soccer team or refusing to hire a Muslim to teach a Bible class!
The Ted Kennedy authored bill which is promoted by Senator Hillary Clinton would destroy free speech.
Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton want the power to decide what we are allowed read, say and think. They want to establish a bureaucracy that would determine what words can no longer be said in America. The “F” word would be OK with Ted and Hillary, but the Word of God would have to be censored. What is already being done at a local level in liberal cities and states will be made national law.
In New York state a minister bought two billboards and simply put the words of Leviticus 18:22 on them: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is an abomination."
Homosexuals did not even file a lawsuit. They merely complained to the local bureaucrats that the signs constituted a "hate crime" and the billboards were taken down.
What is a 'hate crime"? Anything perverts don't want to hear or see. Thus the Word of God, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is "hate speech" to homosexuals, perverts and Muslims.
In the William J. Murray Report I have numerous times pointed out that Mohammed was a murderer, thief and pedophile. Muslims consider what I say about Mohammed to be a "hate crime" even though what I have said is completely truthful!
Our fathers and grandfathers fought the Nazis in World War II and we won that war. We fought a cold war against communism for decades and we won that war. In both of these wars we fought for freedom of speech and thought.
In Nazi Germany and in the Soviet Union it was a crime to think or speak certain words. You could go to jail just for what you said.
Did our brave men and women die in vain fighting the Nazis in Europe and the communists in Korea and Vietnam? Will it now be a crime to think certain things in America?
The United States was founded on the Rule of Law. In the past if a man robbed a bank he was tried and went to jail for robbing the bank. It did not matter if he robbed the bank to raise money to overthrow the government or to pay for an operation for his elderly mother. In the past the criminal was punished for the crime, not for his "reason" for committing the crime. Under Ted Kennedy’s plan someone would be given additional punishment for what they were thinking when they committed a crime. Does this scare you?
Most European nations are no longer democratic and no longer have freedom of speech. A famous French author is now in court facing charges of "inciting religious and racial hatred." Michel Houellebecq made the statement during a magazine interview that Islam is "the most stupid religion" and that the Koran was "badly written." For that he faces charges in a French court.
The magazine publishing Houellebecq’s comments may also face charges. Muslims are complaining to the court that the photographs that accompanied the article were not "flattering." Best selling authors in France are siding with Houellebecq and are condemning the trial as an attack on freedom of speech. These authors are complaining too late. They should have complained when the laws were being written.
Christians will face the same situation in the United States if Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton get their way and pass their "hate crimes" legislation. They have the votes to do it ... This anti-freedom of speech bill can pass the Senate now that it has 51 co-sponsors. There are liberal Republicans backing this bill as well.
If this bill, S-625, passes, I could very well go to jail for the things I write in my newsletter. I could go to jail for telling the truth about Islam. I could go to jail for telling people what God has said in His Word about homosexuality.
Before the Kennedy/Clinton "hate crimes” legislation goes any further we need to convince President George W. Bush to issue a veto threat. We must convince the President to tell Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton that this bill will not pass over his desk. Once that absolute veto threat is issued by the White House, "hate crimes" will die in the Senate.
Please help the Religious Freedom Coalition take action on "hate crimes" legislation and other issues before Congress such as the "Freedom of Speech of Houses of Worship Act." We must act to make sure the freedoms of Christians are not taken away as they have been in European nations. Please act today!

Mostly, S. 625 is pork-barrel spending. It provides money to local police agencies to prosecute "hate crimes." It provides money for some "hate crime prevention" which will undoubtedly be left-wing teaching. It will expand some bureaucracies. It will add to the sentence of people who cause bodily injury to another person, but it certainly doesn't prosecute people for disagreeing with homosexuality or anything else.
These are all bad things, and the bill should be vetoed. However, most of the assertions in this commentary simply aren't true. In opposing this bill, conservatives need to show that they have taken the time to understand the bill and argue intelligently against it.
