This is our own corner of Free Republic where homeschoolers can discuss what curriculum we use, vent when needed, share our successes, compare notes, alert each other to things we find on the internet, and vent some more.

I second that Motherbear! Between school for the kids and attending a full load of college classes, I don't have much time for Freeping either.

I used to freep so much more. Those were the good old days. Now I have only a few moments.

I had a play date with my neighbors kids set up today. Whew, they are gone. They have spent most of their time in Day care, now they have a sitter while their mother goes to work to teach other kids. The Mom is a guidance counsler. I say she should guide her own kids because they are two little problems waiting to happen. The sitter is going to quit I bet in two months. Sitter is trying to impart some wisdom on those kids, but they have been in Day care for four years. She is beyond frustrated with them.

She asks what I have done to get my son to behave so well, and be so smart and interested in everything. I told her that he is homeschooled.

She is one liberal child development / early ed. teaching student who is going to class tonight with different vision of homeschool.

We're using Saxon Algebra 1/2. I like Saxon, my son does so good in it, I can't imagine using any other publisher.

Glad to hear of your successes with Saxon.

We tried a few of the ones out there--Rod and Staff (good for early elementary), ABeka (overkill, jumps around way too much for us), and we're finally content with BJUP.
