The key chain training is specifically for the come command ... used sparingly ... with much delight and rewards of all kinds at the point of return.
Old Soul never had an issue with this ... but *Sparkles* gets so caught up in the wee small miracles of life ... he forgets to obey.
'Tis amazing how well this works ...
Don't ask me why ... but I am listening to C-Span radio and they are replaying the LBJ tapes ... kinda creepy ... because the mike was placed close to his heart and you can hear the thump-thump throughout the converstation. ick ...
Now ... I am still sticking by my September 12th date for so-long-sa-dam ...
Fox News had a blurb the other night about us having forces in Iraq for the last 6 months.......then the story is dropped.
Amazing!
That IS a good movie...will have to watch it again, it's been too long. Geraldine Page was a wonderful actress...Not sure if she's still alive.
The liberal future? What happens when liberals take over a state
Mr. Robinson, that you for this ciber home.
Bit, thank's for the Daily Update - it's much appreciated.
Really late to the "party" today because Rocke has had another gall bladder attack and I've been busy cleaning up puke -- as the missing Josephine would say. Wish I could find a vet that had a magic solution to Rocke's problem! Or, maybe even a magic solution for cleaning up.
You didn't mention lullabies, but does anyone sing them anymore??
Spending last weekend in Kentucky reminded me of this old lullaby my father used to sing to me:
Kentucky Babe
Skeeters am a hummin'
on the honeysuckle vine
sleep Kentucky Babe!
Sandman am a comin'
to this little child of mine
sleep Kentucky Babe!
Silvery moon am a shinin'
on de heavens up above
bobolink am pinin' for his little lady love . . .
You is mighty lucky
Babe of old Kentucky
close your eyes in sleep . . .
Do you know it?
My father's mother sang it to him, and in turn I sang it to my 2 babies, along with several French lullabies and songs from my grandmother's and father's repertoire.
Does anyone sing lullabies anymore?
You are right about the war already starting.
What time does that CNN special come on tonight??
illstillbe - Now you know my mind is going....what mood? I forget! LOL!
I am taking my last vacation this year on the week of 9/11 next month..
Hard to believe it has been almost a year.
Missed the first one.
Yes almost a year.
On Fox last week there was a psychologist...I think she appears on the network regularly.
She said it would take 2 years for us to "get over" 9/11.
I think she meant getting over that gut wrenching feeling you described, not forgetting it. THAT will never happen, and maybe not even the former...
Good afternoon, Jemian!
How's LD? Has she marched in her first halftime?
Thank you, illstillbe. It is good to be remembered! My wife and I are doing fine. And we both enjoy home grown tomatoes. There's nothing better. My wife's flower garden is beautiful this year, as usual.
Your posts remind me of the time when ladies in the family would gather on the porch in rocking chairs to shell peas and snap beans. And I was just thinking the other day that it's been a long time since I've had turnip greens with "pot likker" and corn bread. Is that a southern thing?
How do you get c-span on the radio? You are getting some good information from that source. I enjoy the week-end programs on c-span2 where authors discuss their books. I'm reading a biography of Jefferson Davis now that I learned about from that channel. It's by LSU Professor William J. Cooper, Jr., and is very good.
Thanks again, illstillbe. You are a special person.
