Whew! I just wanted to hear for sure. (I knew you were tough, but I was worried about the kitties :-)
If you don't hear from someone by tomorrow afternoon, call them back!

LOL I live in Minnesota, I've never even seen a snake outside of a zoo!
Sorry, I'm of absolutely no help on the subject of snakes.

If you don't mind....post on here tomorrow and let us know what they find, if anything. I'm sure you know to be careful where you stick your fingers and toes....

So I tried "I want to know you've taken proper precautions" and it just sounded dirty.
Bahahahaha...
Thanks...I needed that!

Well, as long as one doesn't pop up at an inconvenient time, she should be alright :0)
To: Chad Fairbanks
Well, she did say it was an itty-bitty little thing.

What a great thread, and sunflower, you're a trooper. Glad everything worked out. Please pull back your covers and check before you go to bed tonight. And keep the cats with you at all times.
It's going to be a long night.
To: Sweet_Sunflower29
So where are you sleeping tonight?

Sweet lady, I just read your bio information and if ANYONE on here is capable and strong enough to handle this situation, it is you.
I am, at this moment, thanking God that your encounter with this "illegal immigrant" intruder to your home did not have a more tragic outcome.
I am sorry that none of our efforts to identify the creature could be successful. But the advice I saw about caution was warranted and well thought out.
I suggest that where there may be one, there may be more... and yourself, your husband, and, most importantly, your three children need to go somewhere else until your home can be thouroughtly cleared of other serpentine invaders.

"cats are watching it with wide
eyes...lol "
I think I just discovered where it came from. One of the cats decided to show you what a mighty hunter it is. Now they want to see if you are up to snuff.
If you can get to the snakes neck area grab it behing the head. It can't do anything to you then. You can then take it out side, throw it down the garbage disposal, put it in a jar, or train it to be a headband.
One of our cats brought us a mouse once, dropped it in front of us in the living room. We had the place looking like one of those scenes of a totally trashed rooms by the time we caught it. The cats just sat in the middle of the room and watched us with smirks on their faces.
Oh, yeah, you will be seeing snakes in the house for the next six months whether they are there or not.

Sounds like Monica's description of Bill. Do humanity a favor and cut it's head off.

According to animal control, who contacted someone from the rattlesnake museum, and NM game and fish, I had in my house what's known as the New Mexico Banded Rock Rattlesnake OMG!!!!! I'm so glad to see animal control got the snake. I've been fighting the copperheads out here in Virginia. Yikes, those things are dangerous. I hate snakes. Yes, please have your home inpected. You don't want to meet up with the mom and dad snake. Good luck............Oh yeah, and get a good pellet gun.

So how are you doing "the day after"?
To: Thumper1960
Call it "James". If it wags its "tail" and looks up at you, KILL IT!Thumper; This is an experience I had while camping out in New Mexico.
My friend and I were just getting up when a rattler hit my friend right in his bare a$$. He started screaming for me to do something. He said I should call the Doctor on my cell.
I called the Dr. He said I should take my knife and cut a cross thru the bite, then suck the poison out.
I said, what will happen if I don't do that. He said your friend will die.
My friend came running over to the truck and asked , what did the Dr. say?
I said the Dr. said "You are going to die".
This is a true story, I just made it up myself. Regards.`

No, it's clearly the Shelby Cobra. Very dangerous. Keep away from teenaged boys. LOL.

As for who to call? LOL, the 12 year old boy next door is probably the quickest to respond
I'm assuming you aren't suggesting we use him as a control group to find out if it (New Mexico Banded Rock Rattlesnake) is poisonous? :0)

So did it actually turn out to be the dreaded New Mexico Banded Rock Rattlesnake?
How cold is it out in Albuequerque? My Semi-Quasi-Non-Significant other is out there with her folks now.

Blast from the past! Your thread has been fondly recalled by many posting in this new thread:
Need Help From Freeper Females (vanity). Someone finally linked in this thread.
So how did it all turn out? What was the final verdict ... rattler? The bite from a baby can be as deadly if not more so than the bite from an adult! Here in Florida, we had one get loose in our office building. Someone bent down to pick it up but was fortunately out of range when it struck out. She thought better of it afterwards and then someone else identified it. Everyone spent the next week with their feet off the floor!
