Now to be totally stupid, but in the belief that any temperature below 80 F is freezing, that wasn't
snow, was it?
I'm allergic to snow. I just know I am.

#319....YOU are the person I need to talk to!!
Can you recommend any bed & breakfasts?
We have brochures coming out the kazoo, but it's hard to pinpoint the good ones.
Why the Cabot Trail?........why not the Evangeline Trail?
Did you go to Seaside?
Did you go to Charlottetown?
Is it absolutely gorgoeous.?
Were folks nice to you......Do they like Americans?

Brunswick is a very special place for me. My Dad was stationed at the Naval Air Station there and served as the senior Chaplain. Hubby and I were married in the station chapel 33 years ago in December. Mom and Dad retired in South Harpswell before going to FL for the last few years. Mom is back in Maine now in Topsham, and brother is in Freeport (You HAVE to visit LLBean!), and niece and nephew are in South Harpswell.
Well, that's more than you wanted to know!

I was there for a vacation in 1983. What was so amazing was the high water marks on the rocks. There must have been 40-60 feet difference between high tide and low tide.
Was the ferry still "The Blue Nose"?

This talk of beaches is making me homesick.
I agree with whomever, was it you Ohio?, said they feel close to God on the beach. The power of the waves, the rythmic calmness as the water moves in and out, listening to the birds, seeing the beauty of His wonder all around me, speaks to me of many of God's characteristics.
It also speaks to me of my place in this world. Although I have little actual power compared with One so great, He has set me above the angels and has crowned me with glory and honor.
I read Psalm 46 as part of my quiet time this morning. Psalm 46 ends with, " Cease striving and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations.
Beaches help me retain my perspective.

#324........No it's not....LOL
I did visit LL Bean waaaay back thosse 16 yrs ago....
....We stayed in Kennebunkport at a B & B, and had wild blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
....then we traveled on to Bar Harbor, and stayed several days.
...ate fresh lobster right on the wharf cafe.
Drove up Cadillac Mountain.....
(for Miss Marple).....You should see the pictures....
..I had just had my first curly perm, before I left on this vacation...........and it looked like an Afro on me.....LOL
My head was perfectly round ....face & hair was melded together in this round ball....big....it was BIG hair.
Oh the pictures are awful.....

...I have a hankering to go to Prince Edward Island--(Anne of Green Gables is my favorite!) Actually, I took a tour of the Maritime Provinces - New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia - it was terrific. Saw so much and was really overawed at the scenery and the stories.
We saw Anne of Green Gables, the Musical on stage in Charlottetown, PEI, and visited Green Gables. You'll love it.

YOU'RE going to be my source of reference!!!!
That's exactly what I was looking to do........
...Right now, we have the Boston flight tickets, and know that Southwest Harbor, Maine is where we'll stay a few days......
..but we haven't reserved anything in NS or PEI yet.

JT,
Next spring, May, my class will be reading Anne of Green Gables.
Would you come tell us about it? We'd love to hear about it from someone who has been there.

Those pics are simply beautiful, ohio! Thanks for posting them!
I agree with you, Dog, that the Dems are desperate... in SPADES!!
AND, yes kayak, and Jane: prayers and more prayers are in order!
Like you, I grew up as a little girl on the water, and that experience never leaves you I guess....

G'night, Guennie-bear.
I'm leaving, too. I have just three more boxes of papers to sort, file and/or throw away.
Today I discovered, among other things, a first printing of the Girl Scout Handbook. Girl Scouting began in 1912. I think there is a date in it which indicates the young lady acquired the book in 1920.
I found a wedding dress from the 1800's along with a smocked christening gown and several pieces of lace.
My work here is almost finished.
Maybe.
See y'all tomorrow.
John, thank you.
