I was there for a vacation in 1983. What was so amazing was the high water marks on the rocks. There must have been 40-60 feet difference between high tide and low tide.

Was the ferry still "The Blue Nose"?

Those pics are simply beautiful, ohio! Thanks for posting them!

I agree with you, Dog, that the Dems are desperate... in SPADES!!

AND, yes kayak, and Jane: prayers and more prayers are in order!

Like you, I grew up as a little girl on the water, and that experience never leaves you I guess....

I don't know that the ferry had a name - actually it was a catamaran and it is the only high-speed super cat ferry in the US. Super smooth most of the time. Leaves from Bar Harbor and lands in Yarmouth, NS. Usually takes 2-1/2 hours to Bar Harbor from Yarmouth, but it took us a bit longer as we left Yarmouth late and the water was rough - had a bit of a problem getting our bus on board. For a while we thought we'd have to wait until the next day, but they finally jacked that bus around so that it could make the very tight curve to get on the ferry. Was interesting watching the bus driver sweat!!!
