We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
WorldCom discovered for the entirety of 2001 and the first quarter of 2002, its CFO was overreporting earnings - to the total tune over the period of nearly $4 billion. Arthur Andersen was the accounting firm; they claim their work was in compliance with SEC standards and that it was WorldCom's CFO that was withholding data from them. The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation. A preliminary search of the Internet has not, so far, turned up any connections with the previous Administration. Give it time.
Martha Stewart is now facing a wider investigation into her stock dealings. She says she wants "to concentrate on [her] salad."
The FBI searched a home near Ft. Ditrick. The home belonged to a scientist with access to anthrax.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I'll keep the roosters, they are not use to such early hours. The roosters are the smart ones!

No one will say it but X42 has done more harm to this in his 8 years that it is going to take 20 years to fix it.

What a surprise, that the Euronuts don't like the idea of ousting Arafat..< /sarcasm>
The DOD intelligence article is pretty good..
Rumsfeld arrived at the dept. determined to update and modernize, and this war has given him opportunities and challenges, for that matter, to do it.

g6 - Probably, the doctor can present the information in such a way as to guarantee insurance coverage, don't you think? Has a date been scheduled for the operation?
Prayers continue for you and her, for UG's family, and John's and his church family, too.

Good morning! It is a tad cooler here, although the humidity is high due to all the rain we had yesterday.
Alf is reappearing (the puppet alien) and had two segments on Fox's morning show.
Jesse Jackson has come out in support of Arafat while in Geneva (big surprise).
Discussion with callers this morning on Fox was about the colleges and visas. Viewer concensus...shut them down.

Good morning Chairman and *ALL** you wonderful people.
Molly, Alexander Haig also said that President Bush' MidEast plan was brilliant. He said it took 3 Presidents (2 Republicans and 1 Democrat) to muck the peace process up over the years. He said that President Bush is the only one to call Arafat WHAT he is!!!
Sean seemed stunned and appeared to back of on his foaming at the mouth routine.

Well, God bless General Haig! I do believe he might know a tad more about foreign policy than a radio talk show host. Har!

Yes, and Ollie North gave the plan a thumbs up the night before on Sean's show.
BTW, Ann Coulter is scheduled to do a interview with Katie C. this a.m. on media bias.

Is your mouth all healed up, Jane?
To: Molly Pitcher; gulfcoast6
I agree with Molly.
No doubt, the doctor can present the seriousness of this needful operation & get the insurance you need!!!!
We shall pray towards this outcome!!!

Oh, by the way. You are right about roses this year. I have 4 bushes that have only produced about a dozen or so blossoms throughout the 10 years I have had them. This year, there are an unbelieveable amount on each bush.

Good for Haig.
Now I listened to ALL of Limbaugh yesterday afternoon, and his take was fairly calm, and measured.
It sounded to me like he was pleased with the speech, just didn't think the reforms would happen. So what then? But foaming at the mouth, he wasn't.
I know several of you have given up on him, but I haven't.

No one will say it but X42 has done more harm to this in his 8 years that it is going to take 20 years to fix it. Every major corporate failure in the last couple of years that has been attached to Arthur Andersen has also been attached to another individual.
UOx42.
I am still scouring the Internet. I believe this will end up that way too.
To: Molly Pitcher
No, they backed off. Now it looks unlikely until end of this year or early next year (unfortunately)...

I am sorry, I forgot to answer you about that yesterday. Yes, my mouth is pretty much healed up, just in time for me to go back to the dentist on Monday and get the plan of action for the rest of the repairs. I will be lucky if blasting isn't part of the program. Har!

#34...Hi, I'm up, I'm awake, and I don't know what you're referring to...(even though you addressed this to Molly, I'm the inquisitive type :)

No, I haven't given up on Rush. I will never forget what he has done for the conservative movement. I still think he is right on a lot of issues. I just wish he would tone it down a bit and look for the silver lining more often. After all, the past 8 years with you know who, this nation is very fortunate to have our current President.

"Unfortunately", cause of the wobbly economy? Yes....
But Greenspan was always too eager to raise the rates, and made about 2 too many hikes there....what? sometime in 2000?
So, if he'd just keep his nervous fingers off the rate-hike button, I'd be quite happy, whatever the reason...

I forget where you live, lysander, but the bad side to this season has just appeared here this week. JAPANESE BEETLES. This is the earliest I have seen them...usually they don't make an appearance here until mid-July. Now I have to decide whether to spray or not. I didn't spray last year because of the honey bee shortage, and I try not to use too many pesticides because of birds and wildlife, but if their numbers are as high as it looks like they may be, I may be forced to get out the sprayer.

1 . Only in America......can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.
2. Only in America......are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink.
3. Only in America......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
4. Only in America......do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.
5. Only in America......do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.
6. Only in America......do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.
7. Only in America......do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.
8. Only in America......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.
9. Only in America......do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.
10. Only in America......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.
EVER WONDER
Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?
Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?
Why! is it that doctors call what they do "practice"?
Why is it that to stop Windows 98, you have to click on "Start"?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?
When dog food is new and improved tasting, who tests it?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes?
Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed through stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods:
On a Sears hairdryer: Do not use while sleeping. (and that's the only time I have to work on my hair).
On a bag of Fritos: ..You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. details inside. (the shoplifter special?)
On a bar of Dial soap: "Directions: Use like regular! soap." (and that would be how???....)
On some Swanson frozen dinners: "Serving suggestion: Defrost."(but, it's "just" a suggestion).
On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom): "Do not turn upside down. "(well...duh, a bit late, huh)!
On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding: "Product will be hot after heating." (...and you thought????...)
On packaging for a Rowenta iron: "Do not iron clothes on body." (but wouldn't this save me more time?)
On Boot's Children Cough Medicine: "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication. "(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5-year-olds with head-colds off! those forklifts.)
On Nytol Sleep Aid: "Warning: May cause drowsiness." (and...I'm taking this because???....)
On most brands of Christmas lights: "For indoor or outdoor use only." (as opposed to...what?)
On a Japanese food processor: ! "Not to be used for the other use." (now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)
On Sunsbury's peanuts: "Warning: contains nuts." (talk about a news flash)
On an American Airlines packet of nuts: "Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts." (Step 3: maybe, uh...fly Delta?)
On a child's superman costume: "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly." (I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this one.)
On a Swedish chainsaw: "Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals."! (..was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)
