What a great dominating performance by our pitching staff/whole team. The tower is lit up 100% orange tonight, with a beautiful #1. For those of you not blessed to live in Austin, here's a (blurry) webcam shot of the tower:

Now for #1 in football, then onward and upward!... Texas is the only division 1A school in the nation this year with a football team in a BCS bowl, basketball team in the sweet 16, and baseball team in the CWS. What a great time to be a Longhorn!

And to think some of the posters on this thread think soccer is boring. What were the TV ratings for the College World Series? Who cares?

Oh come on now. I live in the area and spent this last week watching every game I could on TV and saw 4 games in person. You won't find baseball played anywhere with more zeal and love of the game.

Tues. afternoon game started by having a little boy (maybe 12) sing star spangled banner. He nailed it big time. Fans around me had tears in their eyes. I make no money on the series in any way shape or form, but I do recommend it to anyone who loves the game. Its still God, Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie for me. OK, the NFL comes in there somewhere.

The Longhorns were the better team yesterday....I wish we could have played a series, like they will do next years for the championship. Most Gamecocks are not really that upset about losing the game, as we were much happier to send our most hated rivals (the tigers of clemtech) back home in back to back elimination game ass whuppings. THAT is what a rivalry is all about! lol GO COCKS!!!!!!
