They missed a couple of extra points, but UT beats South Carolina 12-6, to take it all at the College World Series. A former Yale baseball star is probably smiling right now.

Texas moves into a tie for second on the most college baseball nat'l championships, with 5.
Of course USC still leads with 12. But we're working on that!

Think I'll stay on the north side of the lake and take it easy. Just too damn hot to do any serious drinking downtown.

Thanks. I have to admit being shocked that the NCAA left the Aggies out of this year's playoffs, the Ags had a good record, did well in one of the toughest conferences, had strength of schedule, and performed will in conference tournament. But the NCAA did a lot of stupid things with this year's playoffs.

Yeah...of well...as they say: "stuff happens". Congrats again on a DECISIVE win.

You know the eyes of Texas, or in this case the White House, is smiling for his state. A school from his homestate wins the national title in a sport that's a favorite of his. COuldn't have worked out better.

Congrats to the Longhorns. BTW..Didn't Roger Clemens pitch for one of the earlier Horn championship teams?
Now it's time for football.......Let's see if Texas can match what the Miami 'Canes did last year, that is to win both the College World Series and the BCS National Championship Football game.

"Gig 'Em T-Sips. "
Thanks Nelson for rooting for us sippers! There's a guy at work (K Stater) that just signed his daughter up for her first semester at College Station, and he suddenly became a vicious UT hater....I mean loathing of anything orange!
Me and a freshout newhire engineer tried to explain to him that that's not how it works...that UT/Aggie fans are sposed to root for each other when not in it, but he didn't buy it. I hope maybe his daughter will get him lernt!

Isn't this the second national championship UT has brought home this year? I think they won swimming too.

And to think some of the posters on this thread think soccer is boring. What were the TV ratings for the College World Series? Who cares?
To: connectthedots
soccer is boring.
But when some of the amateurs around town named Ahab get together at the high school field for a game, you can't get a taxi ... they're all parked there at the school.

I've been a Gamecock fan for over 40 years. You'd think I'd be used to losing by now, but it just doesn't get any easier.
Congrats on a good game.
