Consider a man or woman, who knows they have never done anything illegal. Lets call her Jane Doe. She answers the door one day and finds two police officers on her porch uninvited. They ask if they can come in to speak with her. She asks why and is politely told they would prefer to speak inside.
Answer the following questions with a yes or no answer.
1 Is she doing something wrong if she says no?
2 Is she doing something wrong if she says do you have a warrant?
3 If she asks either of the previous questions does she have something to hide?
4 - If she asks question 1 and/or 2 is she a criminal?

But after being asked; "do you have a warrant?" I turn, smartly click the Jackboots and command:
"ROLL THE PANZERS" :-)
Someone said welcome back, did you go somewhere? (he asked without a warrant)
To: HairOfTheDog
You and I are not so far apart. Peace.

He what? He REFUSED?
"ROLL THE PANZERS!"
(Just kidding C/C)

Boy, that damned APC sure gets around!

Actually it's called a "knock and talk" and its used all the time by narcotics officers. Our subject may have numerous visitors that piss off her neighbors, or raise their suspicions, or might have been the subject of an annonymous complaint by an vengeful ex-spouse/lover.
Whatever the reason, the Courts have ruled the police can always ask to enter your home - its up to you to say "no."
My question was fueled by the extreme abuse I got on another thread by some of our more brown-shirted postes who seem to think that answering no to the first two questions requires a yes answer to the last two.

LOL, I'll have to talk to those panzergrenadiers and see why they aren't 'buttoned up.' A sniper could have a field day.

Hey, wait a minute, I must have missed something in my 16 years; what's the description of those we profile?
To: Cap'n Crunch
Well, it isn't people like me. You will have to ask them ;~D
To: HairOfTheDog
Ah shucks, that's no fun.
To: Cap'n Crunch
The snipers better be pretty far away from that .50!

Bump.

I'll kick their @ss! Seriously, though, I'm happy to hear that this wasn't resulting from a personal experience. ("No" to all four, btw.)

Come on now Travis, you know what an easy target that big grape behind that .50 would be, rolling down the street like that. Granny'd even be able to hit that.
;-)
To: Cap'n Crunch
All I could think of was Granny giving them a rasberry! How could she miss! HA!
