My wife's parents were Czech refugees but she was born in Colombia, so I tell my kids to list their heritage as "Hispanic" in case there are any scholarships available.

Well, they took "other" off the form at some point, and you can't refuse to answer any more.

So, we're now officially Hispano-Celtic-Native Americans.

I do recall with the census form we claimed 800,000 illegal aliens were living in my garage. This may explain why there are so many Salvadorans hanging out on the streets of San Mateo...

Yep, just as we thought, former Peruvian President Fujimori is "Hispanic" after all.

I would suppose Mengele's descendants would qualify.

There's no slot to describe my kids. They're Italian, Mexican, Irish, Scotch, Dutch and Cherokee. A walking U.N. I say.

Are Brazilians Hispanic?

Their culture is Portugese, and the Portugese very forcibly made their point several times in history that they refused to be Spanish.

ROTFLMAO! That means all Italians are Hispanic.

At an IT shop where I worked some years ago there was an Indian (from India, not an Injun) who had an apparently "Hispanic" name. Seems his family were Roman Catholics rather than Hindus or Muslims. So they changed the family name to something "Christian" way back when. In practise, this meant Spanish because the missionaries were from Spain.

The boss sure was peeved when he refused to put himself down as "Hispanic" on the EEOC form. I think the boss was trying to fill some kind of quota (not called a quota, of course).

Are you Hispanic Now?

As said in the Monty Python Movie "In Search of the Holy Grail": "I got better"
