At least nine people are dead after a $2 million private jet crashed into a South Florida mobile home park — apparently demolishing at least one trailer in a massive fireball.
Nine people were on board the Learjet 60 en route from Austin, Texas, to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas when it crashed into a massive fireball, the FAA said.
The plane, which had departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, took a sharp right turn before nosediving from 8,000 feet into the ground.

Because at that point, it was a missile.
google ai had this to say:
On November 1, 2026, a Learjet 60 bound from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people on board. Minutes before the tragedy, the flight crew reported experiencing severe weather conditions, including moderate turbulence and manageable ice accumulation while cruising at 35,000 feet. Shortly after requesting a climb to clear the weather, the aircraft entered a cataclysmic, spiraling vertical nosedive exceeding descent rates of 20,000 to 30,000 feet per minute. The NTSB and FAA have launched a full active investigation into the structural, mechanical, or environmental factors that triggered the loss of control.
I requested it be pulled
Absolutely horrific.
Look at the tail section. The horizontal rudder is gone.
Look at the tail section. The horizontal rudder is gone.
The pilot was female, and started screaming: "We are going to crash. We are going to crash."
I have no idea if that is true, but it would have made me laugh if I was a passenger on the way down.
She was the co-pilot. Trust me you would not have been laughing.
Why would I trust you?
Your personal fear of a completely painless instant death is wasted on me.
I think it’s just blurred, and lost in the clouds, like the wings. The jet will hold together at higher speeds than this.
“...took a sharp right turn before nosediving from 8,000 feet into the ground...”
Maybe that’s when it lost it’s horizontal stabilizer and became a lawn dart.
...horizontal stabilizer....the rudder is a vertical component of an aircraft’s empennage.....
“Analysis of Miami NEXRAD radar shows the Learjet 60 (N722BD) entered a thunderstorm core near Wellington at about 12:48 PM ET, just before it crashed in Palm Beach County.”
“storm tops near 47,000 feet.”

The plane was flying at about 10 miles a minute.
It apparently flew into a cold storm cloud and got covered in ice and down it went.
We had some heavy rain bursts in my part of Florida this morning.
I would imagine the occupants of both the car and pickup truck would have been killed or seriously injured and likely burnt.
