Feds ‘surge’ law enforcement to Alaska after ‘troubling new revelations’ in ‘Decoy Dan’ Senate scheme

The Trump administration is surging federal law enforcement resources to Alaska amid the “troubling new revelations” of an apparent Democratic scheme to siphon votes away from incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) in the midterm election.

The criminal investigation into “Decoy Dan” Sullivan’s alleged sham Senate campaign in the Last Frontier has been ongoing for the last “several months,” but additional assets are being deployed as a direct result of a bombshell New York Times report on the alleged involvement of Democratic Senate hopeful Mary Peltola’s campaign, as well as the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), in the plot, Alaska’s top federal prosecutor revealed Friday.

“This new information has resulted in a significant surge of law enforcement assets to Alaska,” Michael Heyman, the US Attorney for District of Alaska, told reporters at a press conference in Anchorage.

“As we speak, law enforcement around the country are taking investigative steps with respect to the criminal investigation,” he added, noting that he could not discuss the specifics of what those steps were due to the ongoing probe.

Heyman said several attorneys from his office have been assigned to the matter as well and that authorities are taking the allegations in the New York Times report “extremely seriously.”

I hereby change my name to Alex Oscar Cortez. Anyone know a good seat I could run for, like, in New York?

It’s too bad the GOP in Alaska didn’t think of adding a second idiot named “Mary Peltola” to the Alaskan “Senate” jugfork.

If this is allowed to stand, we should put at least 5 identical Democrat names on every ballot.

“..Mary needs to be locked up...”

Along with lil’ Chuckie Schumer.
Threre’s an article out there that Chuck, The Schmuck is the one that hatched this great idea.
IF that communist POS has been arrested for intimidation of those SCOTUS judges like he should have been back then, this wouldn’t have happened because the evil POS would be rotting in a federal pen for life...spit.

CBS newsroom debated this according to a Fox news report . Margaret Brennan ( who smeared Todd Blanche on FTN last Sunday as trying to interfere in election) pushed back against Bari Weiss request to cover this double Dan by saying “it happens all the time, “ suggesting Republians put John Sununu on the ballot in NH because people might confuse him with his brother Chris Sununu, former governor. Sure , you bag of tripe and worms ! And when John Quincy Adams was elected President, it was because people were confused that John Adams was running. And it’s well known in Louisiana that John Kennedy is senator only because it was rumored that Elvis had stopped his pink ‘59 Caddy by Baton Rouge just to drop JFK off on the Capitol steps. Same doggone stunt, confuse the voters with a different person of the same name.

How did the faux Sullivan even get on the ballot? Can anyone in Alaska who wants 15 minutes of fame run for US Senator?

That is an interesting observation. Here is a guy that likely retired at ~55 with COLA increases. He then gets a gig with the forest service to pad his retirement. Why piss it away?

Because he didn’t think there would be consequences. It didn’t even cross his mind. They actually convince themselves, first that their point of view is so righteous that any tactic is in play. Second, that their hijinks are just clean fun. A mask will do to hide one’s identity, but this is why some Antifa types show up to violent riots in cartoon costumes

States legislate the "time, manner, and place" of elections to the US Senate. Congress is authorized to pass Federal laws overriding state laws on this subject.

Have they done so? They refused to pass the SAVE Act, the next Congress certainly won't do so.

As such, what does the FBI have to do with the Alaska Senate race?

The FBI/DOJ criminal probe rests on standard federal election-interference and fraud statutes. U.S. Attorney Michael Heyman framed it as targeting anyone who "illegally deceives voters and interferes with the election" — i.e., potential violations of 18 U.S.C. provisions covering election fraud, conspiracy, and obstruction. This is conventional prosecutorial authority and is not itself legally disputed.
