President Trump will no longer travel to Kansas or Iowa over the weekend to rally voters ahead of Election Day, instead opting for virtual campaign appearances. A White House official confirmed to The Hill Thursday the in-person Kansas event had been canceled, without providing more details about the decision. Later in the evening, the Republican National Committee (RNC) announced the cancellation of another Trump campaign rally in Iowa.
“President Trump will continue connecting directly with Americans nationwide through more than 20 telerallies before Election Day,” the White House official said in a statement. “These events give him the opportunity to highlight his accomplishments and expand his reach across the country.”
The RNC said Trump will instead appear virtually in Iowa, attributing both changes to Republican candidates’ “strong position” in both states. The president is instead expected to hold nearly 20 telerallies in states like Texas, Kansas, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Montana and South Carolina before Nov. 3. In a statement, RNC Chairman Joe Gruters said, “Voters across the country want to hear from President Trump before Election Day, and this 72-hour sprint will be a huge boost in the closing days.” “The demand for POTUS [president of the United States] to hold rallies has been huge from our candidates, and we are adjusting to a tele-rally to maximize his reach and communicate with as many voters as possible,” a GOP source told The Hill on the scuttled Kansas event now being held virtually.
The Kansas campaign rally was set to take place at Salina Regional Airport on Saturday, and it would have marked the president’s second visit to the Sunflower State this election cycle. During an Oct. 19 rally in Park City, Kan., Trump campaigned for Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) as he faces a tough reelection battle against Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton. The incumbent trailed behind Hamilton by 4 points in a CNN/SSRS poll released Thursday. A New York Times/Siena survey conducted last month found the two candidates tied up with 45 percent support each.
Several Republicans in battleground states have sought to distance themselves from the president and his waning public approval ratings amid rising fuel costs tied to the Iran war. A Reuters/Ipsos survey released Monday found Trump’s approval rating sitting at around 32 percent, up 1 point from a record low the week before. The GOP has ramped up efforts to boost voter turnout within its base in recent weeks, after polling has indicated an enthusiasm gap between Democratic and Republican voters headed into Nov. 3.
Several Senate Republicans have also vocalized concerns that the president’s presence in key states is endangering vulnerable GOP candidates’ path to victory.

Probably too many assassination threats?
This baby’s in the bag.
I hope you are correct. Would he cancel because it was, or because it wasn’t?
He complained till the last minute in 2020.
Campained
campaigned :)
Iran is probably trying to get at Trump before the elections.
Safer for Trump to remain out of harms way.
He’s still campaigning, just not in person. I wonder G_d forbid, if he has a blood clot and can’t fly.
PRAY
PRAY
Very out of character, he used to like being on stage till the early hours of election day. Like a basketball player trying to score as many points as humanly possible before the clock ran out.
A medical issue? Who knows...but the president is 80 after all, a man with an inhuman will but also an inhuman schedule.
Ya got me pal. Those states are red and shouldn’t need his help. Maybe the voters are coming back home and our people know it. Maybe his visits to other red states are a head fake, trying to think the rats have a chance if they blow more money.
Trump is healthy and fine. He is doing 26 rallies. He is skipping KS and IA, because he is not needed there.
Here’s the obvious answer from the ditzy woman on a CNN panel Thursday night: Trump is sensitive about being blamed so he is distancing himself by not showing up for last trips so he can say he wasn’t to blame to the big losses the GOP is going to suffer. From her expansive knowledge she must have figured this out. /SARC
Other idea: Internal polls show no need to add to the GOP winning margin.
RE: PRAY
Absolutely. Prayers up daily.
We are in God’s hands and must strengthen our trust in Him.
God doesn’t care who wins elections.
He’s probably exhausted. I’m exhausted watching him. Plus there are a gazillion death threats.
